Join us on Saturday 3rd April, 1pm by the Clock Tower for a #Leicester #KillTheBill demonstration! Bring signs, banners & friends. This bill is authoritarian and must be stopped.

After watching shocking scenes of the police handling of a peaceful gathering of women in Clapham this evening, the Government’s attempt to rush through Parliament next week a significant increase in police powers over public demonstration & activities surely has to be resisted.

So a cop grabbed me and tried to take my phone after I picked it up. His reason being "I thought it was stolen". Fuck the racist police.

STATEMENT REGARDING QMUL'S OFFER OF RENT REDUCTION
Dear striker,
We are writing to you about QMUL’s offer of a 30% rent reduction for the rest of this academic year. Do not accept this offer. It is a trap. It doesn’t address all of our demands.

@QMUL not sure if any of this qualifies as "comfortable", "safe", or "promoting a spirit of community"...

RENT STRIKING HAS AN ANTI-RACIST, ANTI-CLASSIST AND ANTI-CAPITALIST HISTORY. 1/3
This history is unique to QMUL’s rent strike campaign. The East End Bengali community used the same tactics that we are using right now, in the same place as us.
We are mindful of this legacy.

Shame on Colin Bailey for keeping campus open to profit off of a bunch of 18 year olds. Join the strike now or express support for our demands by signing the solidarity petition. Both links in our profile💥 – at Poplar, London

Why is Colin Bailey suggesting that students on courses not listed as exceptions in the government guidelines can return to campus if they want? When will students who wish to adhere to national lockdown going to get their rent refunded for the weeks they cannot be on campus?

👉👉Today we sent a letter to @SussexUni in last attempt for them to meaningfully engage with demands of Jan rent strike. The strike is avoidable but only if UoS acknowledge their duty of care and act on real financial / welfare concerns of 1000s of its students.
