Part of the problem: we have for too long called the system the “criminal justice system”… we must change it to the “criminal AND victim justice system.” Until we do that, victims will be overlooked and sadly left at the sideline. We MUST change this narrative. Now is the time. Join me and throw away the old term and replace it with “criminal and victim justice system.” Let NO victim be forgotten or cast aside.
Defendant’s rights to fairness and due process should NEVER erase the rights of victims and achieving true and just verdicts.

After the judge declared a mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial on Friday, Plymouth District Attorney Tim Cruz emphasized that the case was about getting justice for the child victims — Cora, Dawson and Callan.
"It is our job to make sure that the victims are not invisible, to make sure that they're not forgotten," Cruz said.
With the trial over, he must now decide if he will retry Clancy and, if so, what charges she will face. cbsn.ws/4dj7XM4
Finally… thank you @USAttyEssayli

🚨 Election Fraud Arrests Begin
This morning we arrested and federally charged a Honduran national for unlawfully registering to vote in California and falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen.
Darwin Jonathan Rivera Flores, 30, of Winnetka, is charged with two felonies and faces deportation if convicted.
Because states like California allow non-citizens to easily register to vote and receive a ballot by mail, there is no telling how many non-citizens are currently registered.
It is time for California to comply with @AAGDhillon’s request for a comprehensive audit of its voter rolls to protect the integrity of our elections.
All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
I am grateful to R. Matthew Price and the @usao_wdmo, AUSA Randy Eggert, and to @FBIKansasCity, @FBILosAngeles, and @USAttyEssayli for taking this case seriously and holding Mr. David Platek accountable for his unthinkable horrific detailed threats to kill my children, their classmates, my wife and me... I hope and pray that Mr. Platek realizes that he has now been given grace twice in resolutions that he did not deserve for two criminal cases. I pray that he will recognize that he needs to change his life and that he will seek God and obtain His forgiveness that is truly priceless.
David William Platek, 43, a Springfield, Mo., man was sentenced in federal court for threatening to kill a prominent member of the California District Attorney’s office and bomb area schools. justice.gov/usao-wdmo/pr/spr…

💯 agree with my friend and colleague DA Spitzer.
Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer Issues Statement on the Brutal Stabbing of a Fresno County District Attorney prosecutor
Every single day, prosecutors and law enforcement officers fight to ensure that the people we protect can feel safe at work and at home.
When one of us is attacked, every prosecutor feels it. A retaliatory act of violence against a prosecutor is an attack on the very institution of justice we have sworn to defend. No threat, no act of violence, and no attempt at intimidation will dictate how prosecutors carry out their sworn duties.
The brazen stabbing of a Fresno County prosecutor is a chilling reminder of the risks prosecutors face every day as they stand up for victims, protect the public, and pursue justice. The idea that a prosecutor could be targeted with violence in retaliation for carrying out that responsibility should outrage every person who believes in the rule of law.
Let us be clear: violence and intimidation will never coerce prosecutors or law enforcement into abandoning our constitutional duties. Anyone who believes attacking a prosecutor will weaken our resolve fundamentally misunderstands who we are and what we have sworn to do.
We will not be intimidated. We will not be deterred. We will continue to stand up for victims, protect the public, uphold the rule of law, and pursue justice.
Our thoughts are with the Senior Deputy District Attorney, his loved ones, and our colleagues at the Fresno County District Attorney’s Office.

Thank you @ACPeds! Let’s get this unjust law overturned.
Our Pediatricians Condemn Massachusetts Law Expanding Abortion Until Birth.
“As pediatricians, we care for children at every stage of development, including babies born prematurely at the same gestational ages at which babies in Massachusetts may now be aborted.”

Every human life should be zealously protected under the law.
“We hold these truths to be self evident all (humans) are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are LIFE, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.”

What if I gave birth at an Olive Garden location? Is my baby entitled to a never-ending pasta pass?
Replying to @Superpowamario
No. The Never-Ending Pasta Pass is only for use by the Passholder whose name is printed on the Pass. Passes are personalized and non-transferable. Passholders must present a valid photo I.D. along with the Pass at the time of ordering.

I am a lifelong Democrat. I served on President Clinton’s National Security Council and in the State Department under Madeleine Albright. I am also a lifelong human rights and civil rights advocate.
But every Democrat and every American should recognize that the DSA represents a fundamental threat to our party and our country.
This is not a story about a few idealists seeking to reduce healthcare costs. It is about a small group of radical extremists pursuing a strategy to take over the Democratic Party and ultimately our country in order to impose an agenda that would devastate our economy and fundamentally dismantle our system of government.
Don’t take my word for it. Listen to the full conversation between Fox News’ Martha MacCallum and New York City DSA co-chair Gustavo Gordillo and judge for yourself.
This crime shocked, angered, and saddened me... every human being - regardless of societal status or where we live - is made in the image of God and has great value and worth as a human being. One human should never treat another human this way. I pray for the healing and recovery of Mr. Mark and for genuine contrition and change of heart for these young men. San Luis Obispo County District Attorney Dan Dow announced today that Boaz Winslow Brigham and Malachy Damien Hayes, both residents of Arroyo Grande, were sentenced for the brutal and unprovoked attack on a sleeping homeless man in the middle of the night in March 2026.
Boaz Winslow Brigham (21) and Malachy Damien Hayes (18) were sentenced on July 13, 2026, in San Luis Obispo County Superior Court after each admitted to violently attacking an elderly, homeless man as he slept in a public park in Arroyo Grande. Brigham pleaded guilty and Hayes pleaded no contest to felony elder abuse, and each admitted a great-bodily-injury enhancement and multiple aggravating factors. The enhancement makes the crime a serious and violent felony - a strike - under California's Three Strikes law.
The shocking crime was committed at approximately 1:30 in the morning while the homeless victim slept in a park under an outdoor picnic area that was under video surveillance. According to police reports and surveillance video reviewed during the investigation, at approximately 1:30 a.m. on March 20, 2026, Hayes and Brigham walked together to Elm Street Park, where the victim, Douglas Mark, was asleep in the park gazebo.
Surveillance footage showed Hayes approach Mr. Mark as he slept, stand over him, and urinate on him until Mr. Mark awoke. Mr. Mark told officers he was roused by liquid splashing on his face and body. As Mr. Mark struggled to his feet, Hayes advanced on him and began punching him in the head and face. Brigham then walked into view and joined the attack, with the two continuing to punch and kick Mr. Mark in the head, face, and body while he lay on the ground - all while Brigham continuously video-recorded the assault on his cell phone.
How many days will you live? Just like Senator @LindseyGrahamSC, you and/or I could drop dead today without even a moments notice. Are you ready? Have you acknowledged that God exists and put your TRUST completely in Him? After all, He is the giver of ALL life, even yours whether you believe in Him or not. If you seek Him, you WILL find Him. There is nothing as important as this very question for every human being.
“Now listen, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.” Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. Instead, you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.””
