Celebrated 3 years at #Quins this week. Loved every minute of it and still loads to get done. Lessgoo 🃏#COYQ

This bird looks like he is about to solve a murder in the English countryside using only, “My little grey cells, monsieur.”

Watching porn at work bad enough. When workplace is the Commons, mind-blowing. But to do it, where people are literally able to look down on you from the press and public galleries, with cameras around, suggests thickness that could see them get a Cabinet post quite soon

My favourite kid I ever taught when I was a swim teacher was this little 4-year-old Italian boy. One time he sneezed and nobody said anything so he just went “what? No bless yous for Giacomo?”

His whole life Boris has wanted his Churchill moment; to emulate a man he idolises. Two have come along in three years and he's managed to balls both up...✌

I have a degree in immunology from Cambridge, a medical degree from Oxford, and a master's in public health from the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine… but "John52659143" on here just told me I know nothing about all three, so there's that.

Everyone keeps talking about covid becoming endemic, but as I listen to the conversation, it’s becoming more & more clear to me that very few of you know what “endemic” means. So here’s a thread on how pandemics end.

Thank you for all the time you have given to help coach many St Martin’s basketball teams over the years, Lauren Game. The year 7 girls were lucky enough to share your last coaching session on Wednesday morning #❤️🏀🖤

As well as running surveys, we also try and speak directly to students on a regular basis to help us understand what you want and what you need. It's very buzzwordy to say 'the student voice is at the heart of our decision making' and stuff like that but it really is true.

"The tallest mallard duck to have ever lived (since records began) known as 'Long Boi.' He lives on the campus of the University of York, England. He stands just over 1m tall (3.5ft)."
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
Long Boi is a real duck, and this image is real, however it is not a mallard duck, but an average size Indian Runner. The reason it looks tall is that it is standing next to short mallard ducks. It is also not 3.5 feet tall, but 70 centimeters. snopes.com/fact-check/lon…

Our first award of the night is the Care and Compassion Award. 🏆 Congratulations to our winner Caroline Game who showed immense care and compassion during what was a very difficult time throughout her redeployed to Havering District nurses. 🎉🎊👏

Because the Earth's orbit of the Sun is 365.2425 days, the Julian year is about 11 minutes too long, and by 1582, the calendar was 10 days behind. So Pope Gregory XIII fixed this by deleting those days: the day after Thursday 4th October was Friday 15th.
tell me something I don’t know.

Tomorrow's Astrazeneca reporting (and indeed today's) is a real test of whether the media can report mildly complicated science without dangerously sensationalising it.

A friend has just shown me this book "Calculus made easy", published in 1914, and I think it's got one of the best prologues I've ever seen. This is *exactly* what textbooks should be doing. And they should all be honest about how terrifying the topic names are too.
