TIL After A Night at the Opera and A Day at the Races, Queen wanted their next album to named Duck Soup. Groucho Marx refused permission, but said they could use the title of his forthcoming movie instead: The Rolling Stones’ Greatest Hits.

On a overground (mildmay line) train to Richmond when it terminates early at South Acton. They can’t tell us why, but they can tell us over the intercom that we’re skipping Kensal Rise Station because a customer on the platform has a weapon?! Make it make sense. @TfL

A Tale of Two Memoirs I recently read Hannah Murray’s memoir The Make-Believe, which tells the story of being drawn into a wellness cult and eventually being sectioned. It reminded me of Lena Dunham’s recent memoir Famesick.

The cult she joins is obviously ridiculous. They start teaching about magical races and hand out wands surprisingly early on. What bothered me more was how superior she often seems to feel to others, and how selfishly she treats many of the people in her life.

The book is supposed to be about illusion and magical thinking. Ironically, its biggest blind spot may be the author’s inability to see how she comes across.

I just seem to naturally rub people up the wrong way. Those four years at massage college were a waste.

Survived a near-death medical trauma, can’t sing, can’t work. reached out to @HelpMusicians for emergency support. Sent a detailed, honest plea. Got a cold one-paragraph rejection, because my savings are slightly over their threshold. Disgraceful, no compassion.

Na jedničce mého spotify TOP18 #VelkýSummitPlaylist se ode dneška usadil král severolondýnského soulu Danny Toeman. Vybral jsem jeho singl When the Lights Go Down. Kytarové sólíčko vystřihl Lyle Moxsom. Hot Stuff! #DoporučenoPanemPudinkem youtu.be/zYkwaJHd5oM?si=tYr2…
