Jerome Bettis had NEVER played tailback until his junior year at Notre Dame. He became a Top-10 pick 🤯 “I told Coach Holtz, ‘I don’t even know the plays.’ He says, ‘The greatest thing is you’ve got ONE WEEK to learn.’” “That one week I learned how to play tailback… I had like 150 yards rushing in that game.” “I ran a 4.52 at the NFL Combine at 250 pounds... The Rams drafted me with the 10th pick.”

New: Joe Rogan might have a new best friend after Grammy Award-winning rapper LL Cool J says he’s 100% convinced that ancient civilizations are buried beneath Antarctica and the Earth’s permafrost: LL COOL J: “I’m going to tell you where everything is at Joe. The permafrost.” ROGAN: “You think there’s ancient civilizations there?” LL COOL J: “100%.” CONTEXT: The wild part is that LL’s basic premise contains a kernel of truth: Cold environments are extraordinary time capsules. Frozen ground can preserve things that would normally decay, disappear or be destroyed. In northeastern Siberia, genetic evidence shows humans were living in the region more than 40,000 years ago, including an ancient population researchers call the Ancient North Siberians. In Greenland, scientists recovered enough DNA from roughly 4,000-year-old human hair preserved in permafrost to reconstruct the genome of a man from the island’s earliest known culture. That would have been almost unimaginable before ancient-DNA technology existed. And underneath Antarctica, researchers have found something even stranger: entire ancient landscapes. Radar mapping beneath the East Antarctic Ice Sheet revealed a vast network of valleys and ridges carved by rivers before the modern ice sheet covered the region. The preserved landscape is thought to be at least 14 million years old and potentially more than 30 million years old. It has essentially been sitting beneath the ice like geological deep-freeze. But there’s a massive chronological problem for the lost-civilization theory: That Antarctic landscape is millions of years older than Homo sapiens. There is currently no accepted archaeological evidence of an ancient human civilization beneath Antarctica. And the famous Antarctic formation Rogan pulls up that looks uncannily like a pyramid? Geologists have examined that one too. It’s an unnamed peak in the Ellsworth Mountains, roughly 4,150 feet tall. Its remarkably symmetrical faces can be explained by ordinary erosion acting on relatively uniform rock. In other words: it really does look like a pyramid. But there’s no evidence humans built it. That distinction is important because frozen environments have already delivered discoveries that would have sounded outrageous a few decades ago. Ancient genomes. Previously unknown human populations. Entire buried landscapes. IMPORTANT NOTES: Denisova Cave in Siberia even preserved evidence showing that Denisovans and Neanderthals inhabited the region across enormous stretches of prehistory even with occupation at the cave extending back hundreds of thousands of years.

Pablo Torre’s investigation into Life Surge also raised questions about Tim Tebow. Life Surge used faith and sports to appeal to followers of both worlds. The question became simple: How much did Tim Tebow know? Tebow had appeared at more than 40 Life Surge events and was scheduled for more. @PabloTorre reached out to Tebow before publishing his investigation, & after the public backlash Tebow paused his relationship with Life Surge. @thepivot on @netflix… @pablofindsout #ThePivot #PabloTorre #LifeSurge #TimTebow

Professional poker player Phil Ivey won $9.6 million at the Borgata. The casino paid him, then sued to get it back. At London’s Crockfords, he won another £7.7 million. They refused to pay. In the video below, Ivey says his job is to play the game, find a weakness in the casino and use it to win. He calls the casino his opponent and points out that it spends millions of dollars protecting its games. He wanted a specific brand of cards, a Cantonese-speaking dealer and the same decks reused. The casinos agreed. His playing partner, Cheung Yin Sun, asked the dealer to rotate certain cards, presenting it as a matter of luck. The cards had tiny differences along their backs. Once high-value cards faced one way and the others faced the opposite way, those differences helped identify what was coming next. Ivey never marked the cards. The dealer handled them. But the casino didn’t understand what those requests were doing to the odds. He called it an advantage. The casinos called it cheating. In 2017, the UK Supreme Court ruled against him: persuading the dealer to arrange the cards crossed the line. The casino had approved his requests while expecting to win. Ivey knew something about its own cards that it didn’t. Was he cheating, or should a casino know its own game before accepting someone’s money?
