One last post from yesterdays amazing conference from @Peak_HQ & the awesome closing keynote speech from @steparry2 Inspiring & motivational. In between the dad jokes & the videos he kept showing that were about him, theres a great message. #AltitudeX || #ReachNewHeights

Completely blown away by @coopuk Janet Hadley and her take on empathetic leadership. She was utterly brilliant and showed her vulnerabilities in order to show how great empathetic leadership can work! #AltitudeX || #ReachNewHeights @Peak_HQ

Was looking forward to the Mark Lawson segment at today’s @Peak_HQ conference and it did not disappoint. It was a brilliant 50 minute session about asking all the questions you should be asking. Like there is no such thing as a stupid question! #AltitudeX || #ReachNewHeights

“The worst traits an interviewer can have is not listening. I was once interviewed about a book I’d written, and they were writing something else while interviewing me.” Mark’s advice for active listening: Minimise disruption, be in the moment every moment, and keep the momentum and energy. 👂 #AltitudeX || #ReachNewHeights
"Interviewing people is such a large part of human life. One of my mentors is journalism said that every person has something interesting to tell you.” 💡 #AltitudeX || #ReachNewHeights

“I believe that workplaces are the number one place to change stigma.” 💪 #AltitudeX || #ReachNewHeights
Sticking with the theme of building connections, Janet Hadley takes to the stage to talk stigma and team performance. “Stigma has a downside, it prevents us from talking about uncomfortable topics and bringing important things out in the open.” #AltitudeX || #ReachNewHeights

To lead is to listen. It’s not to offer sympathy or give unsolicited advice. It’s empathy and listening, and helping where you can.” Janet’s takeaways: 💡 Know your team well enough to know when something is different 💡 Talk about taboo topics in the workplace 💡 Remember the power of sharing your own vulnerabilities through storytelling #AltitudeX || #ReachNewHeights
“I recognised that I needed a break and took a proper break from work. When I came back I told the truth, and that vulnerability I showed to the team went a long way.” #AltitudeX || #ReachNewHeights

Opening talk on how to make better decisions by @Peak_HQ Hearn honcho was quite enlightening. You can tell how geeky Richard Potter is tho, using a data flow diagram to explain section making and there’s even an algorithm! 😂 Don’t ever change Richard!

Having some well deserved time off by attending @Peak_HQ annual conference on AI. Promises to be a belter with a interesting set of speakers lined up. Also let’s big up the choice of venue - National Football Museum @FootballMuseum

Once upon a time I used to live tweet the Leads Meeting. Today I have decided I am bringing this back. Let's all marvel at the random things Technical Leads say.

To be fair to the person saying this, this isn't the first time he referenced the Nazis in a comment. Recently he likened a mutual friend's new Linked In profile pic to a young Adolf Hitler

Nice little touch from the company I work for, PHMG, with a dedicated space for Ramadan. Even got my favourite kind of dates. To all my friends and colleagues celebrating this blessed month I hope the next 30 days brings you an abundance of joy, prosperity, and peace.

Not an easy one to solve @doodle_em as C-suite execs can be so idiosyncratic in behaviour. For me the starting point should be understanding it is engagement rather than the outcome. Focussing on the destination at the start takes away the focus of the journey itself imo.
#stakeholderengagement when pushing for buy in from C-suite execs what tips do you have for getting a change in passivity and apathy of what should be their drivers? #ucd #challenges
