I do like my cricket ๐Ÿ. Because of the 4-5 day game it could be boring, but limited overs saved the game. Certainly the 20 over matches are often exciting. I went with an American lady, medical doctor to watch Surrey play Kent. Surrey needed 4 off the last ball to win, you can see they did. Running the risk she maybe bored stiff, she said it was the highlight of her visit. Some things also have changed. If you flash outside the off stump, nick the bottom edge, heads to the leg side, it was called a Chinese ๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ณcut. It's a left-arm unorthodox (wrist-spin) delivery that turns into a right-handed batsman. They have been dropped, no doubt out of political correctness. Today it is called a googly & especially in Australia ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ a Bosie named after English cricketer Bernard Bosanquet, who was the father of Reginal Bosanquet, the ITV News presenter. It seems that Test cricket bowlers are either fast, fast-medium or spin bowlers. The medium pace bowler is seen less & I always remember the phrase military medium. I always thought it was Tony Buss the Sussex player but research suggests it's his brother Mike Buss who bowled as slow as a spinner. Cricket is seen as the world's biggest sport.
