Impossible to feel down listening to Rogie! I bought a record of his that had this business card inside
RPPs killing it in the UK, new Softies, Swiftumz & Chime School records , X (formerly known as Twitter) is giving me positive vibes for the first time in ages 🥳
Slowly making my way through These Things Happen (because frankly I don’t want it to end) and the part about Clare’s fanzine Kvatch where she says “I interviewed Ian McColl, and Peggy Seeger picked me up at the station” is just, damn. What an image! @Sarah_Records
Granted I’m in a Fall hole but damn there are certain letters in yr records that deliver, F is major. Fall, Fastbacks, Feathers, Feelies, Felt, Fevers, Field Mice, Fiery Furnaces, Fire Engines, Flaming Groovies, Flaming Lips, Folklords, Fourteen Iced Bears..
Repetition: the Fall’s mission statement, my favorite song of theirs, if “this is the the 3 Rs, the 3 Rs, Repetition Repetition Repetition” isn’t genius enough you also get “President Carter loves repetition”
Comet Gain, the only band I love in the same way as the TVPs, pure pop belief. This comp is such a perfect document of their rough edges. Thanks to @CourtesyDesk for making it available stateside!
A little overwhelmed at Doug’s passing right now but GOD I’m so glad this interview with him exists. Read it when you have some time. His bohemian confidence in what he was doing with zines at Tower was so rad to work around.

In what has to be either last minute or zero promotion Ron Sexsmith is playing Sac tonight at B Street, none of my Sex-heads knew til today anyway, but it’s 50% off tickets w/ “Ron50” code. Trying 2 stay posi & not bummed 4 this Sac treatment of a legend but maybe I’ll cu there
Busting some particular Jah Shaka favorites, both with one side of sweet vocals, killer dubs on the other. RIP
Weird when artists use Bandcamp to sell physical releases but don’t offer digital, feels like it’s breaking some kind of social contract
