Pro tip for gemini flash 3.7: use medium effort level instead of high better score, lower cost

Nearly always the someone is complaining about Opus or Sol doing to much (while using them on high or higher reasoning effort - most often without noticing) - is like firing a bazooka and wondering that there is collateral damage everythere.

Cloudflare Pages not working? Or I the only one who is affected? ```json {"text":"POST /pages/assets/upload -> 502 Bad Gateway"},{"text":"Cloudflare Ray ID: a0a71049ef6c7049-FRU"}],"kind":"error","name":"APIError"} ``` @CloudflareDev

The new Claude model release of Opus 4.7 is a disaster. They were incredibly afraid that their models would be used by cybersecurity hackers, and now they've significantly dumbed down all the models (or more specifically the system instructions, which can't be turned off).

Can @zero__ms dethrone @convex as a favorite webdev tech stack, that @theo baited us all into? Since Zero has reached 1.0 and is considered now to be stable.

Summary - convex - more beginner friendly, with many well made plugins/components - zero - more raw client performance with build-in client caching and a more scalable self hosted backend
4
958
Self hosting Convex - is only single instance (on self hosted) and does not scale beyond a single instance (you would have to switch to the Cloud offer or write it yourself)
3
969
Self hosting Zero - hosting is a bit more complex to setup (vs convex), because of more moving parts - includes a minimum of 3 servers: postgres, api-server, cache-server - allows to scale read replicas
2
982
Convex - built-in ui reactivity/subscriptions - includes/provides an integrated (and an overpriced) s3 storage api - multiple auth options - has plug and play components: r2, agents, payments, etc

1,047
Zero - has client side caching build-in - efficient partial sync - offline support

Comparing Zero vs Convex: Both - use sql db underneath (postgres for zero, mysql for convex cloud) - have own query language - strong schema support, validation and type safety - open source, self hostable

Its pretty cool that Vite 8 has nearly caught up to speed to rsbuild. I get 3.5 vs 3.1 second build times respectively for about ~100 modules. Great work vite team!

Today I learned: there is a pretty cool vite plugin to map the generated html dom nodes to component tsx source files. @builder.io/vite-plugin-jsx-loc especially useful for AI agents

My TLDR notes watching Dax Interview: "Building the Future of coding, OpenCode with Dax Raad" youtube.com/watch?v=IGsbARhE… - antrophic as competitor -> different strategy: vertically integrated stack - Dax bet on improving and competing ai models -> can use any of them in opencode

- overwhelmed with contributors - programming skills decay like school math - opencode hiring: from contributors, if working on that the team wants, done something better than expected, reached them, great at communication, good at showing their work
20
- started with SST, experience working in open source - code quality matters more than ever, ai can't distinquish between old/bad vs new/good code - will not sell out, only if the stress gets to much. opencode bundles all dreams and hopes for Dax - 50m devs use opencode

I made an @opencode diagram to help me understand how Modes, Subagents, Tools, MCP, Skills fit together. @thdxr does this look about right?
