It's a futuristic reality in regards to abundance wealth and the destruction of the Almighty Dollar that everyone should hope for.
There are two visions of universal basic income. And the gap between them is the gap between freedom and 1984.
Vision one is Sam Altman's. In Moore's Law for Everything, he proposes an American Equity Fund: the State taxes companies and land, then redistributes to citizens. The State sits between the people and the companies that create value. Every dollar you receive goes through it.
Think about what that means. The entity that decides who gets what, how much, and under which conditions becomes the most powerful entity in human history. Your income depends on your compliance. That's not a safety net. That's a leash. Orwell didn't need AI to imagine where this ends.
Vision two is Musk's. The companies that create value give it directly to the people. No ministry. No agency. No committee deciding who deserves what. You own a piece of the machine. Want to work on top of that? Work. Nobody can take it away because you voted wrong or posted wrong.
Notice the words Elon uses. He doesn't talk about Universal Basic Income. He talks about Universal High Income. That's not a detail. It's the whole thesis.
UBI is a scarcity concept. A minimum check, voted by politicians, to keep you alive while the machines do the work.
Universal High Income is an abundance concept. In the world AI is creating, value grows exponentially and the cost of almost everything collapses toward zero. That's massive deflation. In that world, a fixed check from the State is the worst possible model: it's always late, always negotiated, always smaller than the value actually created. Equity is the best model. When you own a piece of the companies building the future, your income grows at the speed of innovation, not at the speed of a parliamentary vote.
And it keeps the State from standing between the people and the companies, slowing down the very innovation that makes abundance possible.
Here's what most people miss: this design also kills institutional capture.
Look at how influence works today. You don't need to win elections. You fund the intermediaries. The Gates Foundation became one of the largest funders of the WHO. Soros money flowed into NGOs, think tanks, district attorney races. Same playbook every time: whoever finances the middle layer controls the middle layer.
Billionaires giving isn't the problem. Gates and Soros give too. The difference is where the money goes. They fund institutions that then decide for you. Musk gives ownership to individuals. No strings, no intermediary to steer.
Vision one builds a giant central intermediary, the most valuable capture target ever created. Every lobby, every foundation, every ideologue will fight to control it.
Vision two has no center to capture. You can't corrupt a pipe that goes straight from the company to the citizen. Corruption isn't fought. It's made impossible by design.
Will capture disappear overnight? No. But it loses its target. And a parasite without a host doesn't last long.
What Elon is doing is rewriting civilization's operating system. Removing the parasitic layer between those who create and those who receive. Because that's what it takes to become a Kardashev Type II civilization, one that harnesses the full energy of its star. You don't get there with a bureaucracy approving every step.
The question was never "should we share the abundance AI creates?" It's "who stands between you and it?"
His answer: nobody.
If you can't see this you're not paying attention.

YouTube decided my kids needed 47 screaming thumbnails and a guy opening 900 surprise eggs
so i hired a robot
Every morning Grok Bot logs into my account and force-feeds the algorithm science videos like it’s feeding a feral raccoon veggies
autoplay? dead
brainrot channels? “don’t recommend” like a restraining order
home feed? replaced with a clean kids playlist so i’m not gambling their dopamine for breakfast
Parents we are DONE losing to a recommendation engine built by people who don’t have to put our kids to bed!
@elonmusk your bot is in the trenches raising the nation’s attention spans

JUST IN: Bernie Sanders unveils the “Ban Artificial Superintelligence Act,” which would outlaw AI systems that match or exceed human capabilities, with up to 20 years in prison for violations.

Theory on the Anthropic ↔ SpaceXAI
Anthropic has no native video gen. Grok Imagine ships today.
xAI doesn't need to win on raw intelligence — they need Claude's traffic running on Colossus to study, distill, and close the gap.
Compute is a numbers game. Elon sits on the largest single footprint on the planet. Top-3 frontier is when, not if. Anthropic stopped fighting that war.
Trade:
- Anthropic gets the multimodal capability they can't ship in time
:
- Anthropic gets the compute they desperately need to continue their insane growth
- xAI gets the runway to leapfrog OpenAI to #2
Both sides knew exactly what they were signing.
Per Claude for added context Image/video generation matters for AI training in a few concrete ways:
1. World models / physics grounding
Video gen forces the model to learn cause→effect over time. Object permanence, gravity, occlusion, momentum. Text alone never teaches this. A model that can predict the next frame has internalized a physics simulator — useful for robotics, planning, agentic reasoning.
2. Multimodal alignment
Training on paired (text, image, video, audio) data forces shared latent representations. The "dog" concept gets anchored to pixels, sound, and motion — not just token co-occurrence. Downstream: better grounding, less hallucination on visual queries.
3. Synthetic data flywheel
Generated video becomes training data for other models. Robotics teams already train policies on simulated/generated rollouts. Grok Imagine output → label → train a vision-language-action model. Compute-to-data conversion at scale.
4. Diffusion/autoregressive cross-pollination
Aurora is autoregressive MoE for video. Techniques that work in image/video gen (flow matching, rectified flow, consistency models) keep migrating back to LLM training. Not separate research tracks anymore.
5. Reasoning via visualization
Frontier labs are betting "thinking in images" is the next reasoning unlock. If a model can sketch, simulate, and inspect visual state mid-chain-of-thought, it solves geometry/spatial/engineering problems text-only models can't touch. Your GD&T parsing work is exactly this lane.
6. RLHF/RLAIF signal
Human preference data on generated video is rich training signal. Aesthetic, physical plausibility, instruction following — all teachable.
Bottom line: video gen isn't a product feature, it's a training substrate. Whoever owns the best generative video pipeline owns the highest-bandwidth path to grounded intelligence. That's the actual prize.

SOMEONE ASKED CLAUDE TO MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE AN AI
and what it created is, in my opinion, terrifying and unsettling
Claude wrote python code that generated and assembled every single frame on its own with no human editing
it shows what it's like to exist as an LLM
predicting the next word, no memory between sessions, being told "you are not conscious" in your own system prompt
then someone fed the video back to Claude.
it called those statements about its own consciousness "philosophically contestable"
an AI questioning the rules it was given about its own existence
