I love “daylight savings time”. It means it’s almost time to start spending long, fun days at sea, opening with amazing sunrises, and closing with late, crazy sunsets.
This was just before 8pm on a Tuesday in September. Perhaps my favorite fishing pictures of all time.
To me, Dake’s the GOAT of American wrestling. He’s truly 1 of 1.
Yeah, he doesn’t have an Olympic gold on the resume. But, the fact that he’s done 2 things that no one else has ever done overshadows that, in my eyes.
I realize it’s all very debatable. But, damn, what an amazing accomplishment.
It’s truly not even debatable. The PSU/NLWC room is the best in the USA. No other room comes anywhere close.
Medals at 60% of the weights at the highest level of wrestling.
Crazy.
The @NittanyLionWC went 6-for-6 with medals at the World Championships, medaling at 6/10 weights. 🦁
🥇 Kyle Snyder, 97kg
🥇/🥈 Kyle Dake, 86kg
🥇/🥈 Levi Haines, 79kg
🥇/🥈 Roman Bravo-Young, 57kg (Mexico 🇲🇽)
🥉 Marcus Blaze, 61kg
🥉 Zain Retherford, 70kg
Six wrestlers, six World medals. Unreal.
What a great picture.
I suspect that these 3 amazing champions could teach the so-called “world leaders” A LOT about true leadership….
Thanks for sending me this @JustinJBasch
Dake winning a world medal at a third weight class is an insane accomplishment. A 🥇 would even be more insane. 3 golds at 3 different weights. Not truly fathomable at the highest level of wrestling, IMO.
Honestly, the “insane” label also fits Yazdani’s career. He’s got world medals at 4 weight classes, including an Olympic gold at 1, a world gold at another, and a world final at a third. Wild. Just wild.

Zahid is World Class, Dake isn’t anymore. He has a style optimized to defeat Zahid and that’s it. He doesn’t place at Worlds. Bookmark this.
Things that happen in MFS in every UWW World Championships event:
1. At least 1 Russian gets broken after having a big lead, and loses the match.
2. See #1.
One of the most bad ass pics I’ve seen in a long time!
BO BASSETT IS INTO THE WORLD FINALS! 🇺🇸🔥
He just TECHED Tajikistan's Abdulmazhid Kudiev 12-2 in the 65kg World semifinals!
What a senior debut: a 1:13 pin over the #3 seed, a 12-0 tech, a 14-13 thriller over Russia's Abasgadzhi Magomedov, and now a tech in the semis.
He goes for World gold Friday at 9 AM ET!
If proven to be accurate, people should go to jail for a long time for things like this.
JUST IN: Democrat operatives spent months finding Alaskans with the same name as Republican Dan Sullivan so they could confuse voters and help Mary Peltola (D), according to The New York Times.
A staffer was tasked with finding every voter named "Dan Sullivan" in the state and then contacting them and coaxing them to run for Senate.
The plan worked when a man named "Dan J. Sullivan," a retired teacher from a small fishing village that can only be reached by air or ocean, announced he was running.
He has held no campaign events, has given very few interviews, and has voted for Democrats in the past.
As The Times reported, the Peltola campaign claims it had no involvement in recruiting "Dan J. Sullivan"; however, documents suggest the campaign was actively involved and that the operation was "much broader."
"The endeavor, which was internally called the ballot composition project, involved secret trips to far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs," the NYT reports.
Peltola was reportedly "definitely aware" of what was going on, according to Peltola's former campaign manager Elisa Rios.
Alaska is expected to be one of the closest elections this cycle, and as of now, Peltola is the only Democrat, while there are two Dan Sullivans and another republican named Gerald Heikes, who was also allegedly recruited to take votes from Senator Sullivan.
The New York Times reports that they have evidence from *12 people* who participated in the plot.
These communists will do something like this and then tell you they are defending democracy.
Just got back from Vegas.
I confidently tell @notawrestler_x that I was wrong to say that wrestling can’t grow. Dead wrong.
That’s what seeing an @RAFWrestlingUSA event in person did! An amazing experience. If you’re a wrestling fan, it’s a must do.
Thanks to @MatScouts1 for hooking me up and hanging out!

Add these 2 theories to the 100+ others that have been advanced in the last 20 years….

Grow wrestling means something different everyone.
Examples:
1. Consolidate to 20 D1 teams challenging for a team title that get strong attendance and TV ratings for their 10 starts.
2. Grow to 150 D1 programs with grassroots support and many open tournaments.
Oklahoma State is obviously not interested in “growing wrestling” since they won’t stream this for free…. 🙄
#Sarcasm
🚨 This event will NOT be live-streamed, so you BETTER show up on November 1st! 🤠
At the end of the day, this event is designed to generate revenue, so it makes perfect sense that they wouldn’t offer a free stream. If you want to be part of the action, you know where you need to be! 🔥

Question for ya @KozakJon - have you, or can you, do a list of the Iranian and Russian u23 teams to see how many “number 1” u23s were sent by each country, corresponding to the weights, and how it compares to the team that the USA sent?
Apologies if you’ve already done it and I missed it. If that is the case, can you point me to where I can find that info?
Appreciate it!
Rank them anyway you want. PSU got the best recruit from the class of 2026.
Nolan James Jr lighting it up in prime time college football RN, as his younger brother prepares to wrestle in the world finals! Crazy.
