MIT researchers using Astra 6 to enhance Qwen 3.5 0.8 in relation to ANN weights
We asked GPT-6 Astra to edit Qwen3.5-0.8B weights to improve math.
It directly changed only 0.016% of weights, fixing 0.8B's reasoning loops & improving math up to 6x and even instruction following 3x, without gradients or training.
We call this Weight-Space Programming: frontier LLMs can now natively read/write neural network weights! 🧵

Sam Altman says that the internal model that solved Navier-Stokes will be released "soon":
"It was 10,000 agents of the model that is going to be released soon, the next GPT, working for about four days, nonstop, collaborating with each other perfectly."

Confirmation of what I’ve been saying: the EU is open to Britain rejoining without having to join Schengen or the euro :

🇪🇺🇬🇧 It is closer than ever
The EU will offer flexibility on Schengen and the pound if Britain returns.
Removing those two obstacles would bring support for rejoining close to 65%.
In November, the EU will put these proposals to Burnham
Labour leads on 32%, with its pro-European position helping drive that support.
Rejoining the EU must be in Labour’s manifesto at the next British general election.

Rejoining the EU won’t have to mean joining the euro or Schengen.
Two EU officials have told POLITICO that Brussels could be flexible, taking Britain’s circumstances into account.
This isn’t a formal offer: the EU has no official position as the UK has not applied. But it challenges the claim that Britain would have to accept every aspect of deeper integration to come back.
The choice should be put honestly to the public. And with 55% wanting to reverse Brexit, the case for discussing our future in Europe is getting harder to ignore.
EXCLUSIVE: Brussels would be flexible on letting Britain stay out of the euro and the Schengen area if it applied to rejoin the EU, two EU officials have told POLITICO.

Rachel Reeves says UK's future should be inside the EU

Two years on from the general election, the foundations of Britain’s economy have been strengthened.
By successfully combining the radical and the credible - on devolution, Europe and AI - Labour has a chance to show government can once again be a force for good.

BREAKING 🔥: A hidden Claude Mythos 5.5 mention has been spotted on the official Anthropic website.
> "Claude Mythos 5.5 - Our most capable model class for cybersecurity and biology research."
Should we expect Mythos 5.5 for cyber defense next week? Fable 5.5 may come along as well (speculation).
Soon? 👀
Brexit is the greatest betrayal of Britain in modern history. It weakens our economy. It is a geopolitical disaster, and it robs the British people of European citizenship and the right to live, work, study and retire across 30 EEA countries. Bulgarians have more rights in Europe than we do. Brexit betrays Britain. It must be ended.
Here's a new tag which I think we should use – #BBB Brexit Betrays Britain – at Brighton, England

🚨 GPT-6.2 Astra may already be undergoing early testing inside Codex.
Although the model selector still displays GPT-6 Astra, some users are spotting a separate "gpt-6.2-astra" entry in their usage analytics.
Multiple accounts are seeing the same label, which makes this particularly interesting.
Could OpenAI be quietly testing the next Astra before its official release?

Replying to @Octoberry
Good reminder that the model name in a client UI is just a display string. The only things I'd trust are the model field the API actually returns and what shows up on the bill. A screenshot of a picker proves nothing.

And the majority now regret it because #Brexit has made them poorer.
1/ Andy Burnham says he's open to 'honest discussion' on EU free movement, but he continues to cling to Starmer's red lines.
Please repost if you want Burnham to work to restore our EU Freedom of Movement as soon as possible. It was robbed from us by the worst abuses of democracy in modern British history.

💔 Brexit broke my heart, it still makes me cry 😭 often.
I have felt incredibly sad and at times frightened about Brexit impact.
For me, Europe was never principally about GDP, trade deals or regulations. Europe is about peace; countries that spent centuries fighting one another deciding that their futures were safer intertwined.
And it is about protecting our shared European culture, our democracy and our security.
And so many of the things I feared in 2016 have since happened. War has returned to Europe. Putin’s killing machine continues its assault on Ukraine. And Trump’s America has itself gone to war with Iran while its relationship with Europe is fractious.
Do we continue looking across the Atlantic and hoping America will always guarantee our security and defend our interests? Or do we recognise the simple reality of our geography?
We are European. Europe isn’t perfect, nothing is. But European unity was never based upon the proposition that European countries would be perfect, it was built upon the knowledge of what can happen when Europe is divided.
The lesson of Suez wasn’t that Britain needed America more. Britain, France and our European neighbours need each other.
Britain’s future and Europe’s future are inseparable. 🇬🇧🇪🇺
🇬🇧 🇫🇷 Did Britain learn the wrong lesson from Suez?
Seventy years ago, the Suez crisis brutally exposed the reality that Britain 🇬🇧 and France 🇫🇷 could no longer act as great powers alone.
But Britain and France drew very different lessons from the humiliation.
Britain turned towards America and France turned towards Europe.
🇩🇪 German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer told the French PM:
“France and England will never be powers comparable to the US and the Soviet Union. Nor will Germany. There remains to them only one way of playing a decisive role in the world; that is to unite to make Europe.”
And then came the devastating observation: “England is not ripe for it.”
Seventy years later, that question has returned. Meanwhile Trump has transformed the transatlantic relationship and Putin’s war has transformed European security.
Ukraine 🇺🇦 has demonstrated why Europe needs the ability to defend itself and Brexit has left Britain outside the European institutions where many of the decisions affecting our own continent are made.
@andyburnham now wants Britain to have a new conversation about Europe and it cannot just be about trade.
It is about security, defence, economic resilience and whether Britain has more influence acting with its European neighbours or perpetually trying to be America’s junior partner.
Perhaps the lesson of Suez wasn’t that Britain needed America more and in fact it was that Britain, France and their European neighbours needed each other.
Seventy years later, it really is time to exorcise the ghost of Suez. Britain’s future and Europe’s future are inseparable. 🇬🇧🇪🇺
Russia lost 54,200 troops (killed or wounded) in October, the first month of the war over 50,000.
For their efforts, Russia has gained no net ground in October.
This is the most pointless war in the history of wars. Great job, Putin.

BREAKING: In a major blow to Donald Trump, a federal judge has dismissed his $10 billion lawsuit against The Wall Street Journal and Rupert Murdoch over its reporting on his Jeffrey Epstein birthday letter.
The judge ruled that Trump failed to establish “actual malice” and dismissed the case with prejudice, meaning he cannot refile it.
The judge said Trump’s lawyers were “grasping at straws.”
