Perhaps in the news of his passing someone will find footage of the 1997 STC stage production of Othello where the entire production was race reversed, with Patrick Stewart playing the title role. Incredible concept, I would have loved to see this.

This is an unfortunate story because I actually believe this mom was in between a rock and a hard place. Single mom on contract work, likely no one available to stay with the kids 24/7, so she worked with what she could.
Everyone seems to be misunderstanding the story about the mom arrested for leaving her 4 kids home while she went to Vegas.

>Babysitter came every morning to get kids ready for school
>The babysitter checked on them again after school
>The kids were 14, 12, 11 and 9
>She was coming home in 5 days
>Kids father charged with hitting the mother
>Florida has no law setting an age kids can be home alone
...call me crazy, but when I was a kid this would have been NO PROBLEM AT ALL.
I'm on the mother's side here, all charges should be dropped.
Is 14 a bit young to be responsible for 2 siblings overnight? Maybe. But then I remember my husband who at 14 was living with his dad and basically did this for himself for periods of time when my FIL traveled for work, not even a sitter coming by twice a day like in this story.

People don't understand how much VH1 contributed to cultural literacy. Yeah you were high on the couch watching hours of Pop Up video & I Love The (pick a decade) but you were also getting an education in cultural history. We could use more of that, now, & less tik tok slop.
the 2.5 yo had her very first dentist visit today and she was absolutely perfect - listened well and followed instructions, wasn't scared or irritated by the equipment/hands in her mouth, literally could not wait for her brother to be done so it could be her turn 🙌😭

my kids deciding to have “toothbrushing contests” every morning and evening has been a big win all around for everyone involved
