Thanks for the introduction, EMURGO! I actually visited Tokyo and Osaka last week to connect with the Japanese Cardano community 🇯🇵 I believe that in the age of AI, Cardano’s strong security can be a major advantage over other blockchains. And I see DeFi as an area where Cardano can put that strength to work and compete successfully. During the trip, I spoke with community members, DReps, and SPOs about these ideas and the concrete strategies behind them. It was a really valuable experience, and I felt that these ideas resonated with many of the people I met. I’ve been working to support the ecosystem on the technical side, including developing EMURGO’s asset recovery tool, helping bring USDCx to Cardano, and implementing LayerZero—key foundations for Cardano DeFi. But growing DeFi takes more than building the technology. We also need to build an ecosystem that people actually use. That’s why my colleague Dave and I have also put a lot of effort into supporting AlphaGrowth’s treasury-funded work to help rebuild Cardano DeFi. I want to put these strategies into practice together with people who are actively contributing across the Cardano community. I’d really appreciate your continued support for my work as a DRep, whether through encouragement or delegation. I’d love to spend more time in Japan, and I’m learning Japanese too! I’m planning to visit Osaka and Tokyo again in April. I look forward to continuing to listen to the Japanese community and working together to help Cardano grow. Let’s talk again soon! EMURGO & Yoroi DRep Update: De-registration on 30 November 2026 Further to our announcement on 3 August regarding our intention to de-register our DRep role in Cardano governance, the EMURGO and @YoroiWallet DReps will be formally de-registered on 30 November 2026. If your wallet is currently delegated to either the EMURGO or Yoroi DRep, please delegate to another active DRep of your choice before 30 November 2026 to ensure you can continue to withdraw your staking rewards and keep your voice represented in Cardano governance. De-registration date may be extended further based on extenuating circumstances. When choosing a new DRep, we encourage delegators to look for: - A consistent voting record, clear public rationale, and accountability to delegators - Long-term commitment to the Cardano ecosystem - Broad commercial and technical expertise - A balanced, pragmatic approach that weighs commercial, technical, and governance priorities equally We would like to highlight DReps such as the @Cardano_CF, @nagamaru_panda , @phil_uplc , @SIPO_Tokyo and @SociousDAO , who have consistently demonstrated these characteristics. How to re-delegate: - Open your Cardano wallet and go to the Governance (or Delegation) section. - Browse the list of active DReps or paste the DRep ID of your chosen representative . - Confirm and sign the delegation transaction in your wallet. - As always, governance delegation on Cardano is entirely non-custodial, and your ADA never leaves your wallet.

Love that you're running it like a dapp instead of a subscription. Mixing electronic and in-person votes under real quorum rules is the true test. Have you found a board willing to be the first live election yet?

Happy Halloween to you too. Night Heron is one of the few Midnight apps I can picture my own HOA actually using. How's the zk voting side coming along?

Cardano and Midnight have it right
From today’s Binance hack, no $ADA or $NIGHT tokens were stolen. And for a good reason: - The attackers compromised a hot wallet key and an internal signing service, the same class of breach that has drained other exchanges before. But the ADA and NIGHT balances were not sitting in a simple account style hot wallet. They were held in a Cardano multi signature script (eUTxO) that required an additional on chain authorization from a separate, air gapped key controlled by a different team, plus a timelock that only released after a short challenge window. - Midnight’s privacy layer added a second practical obstacle: the precise amounts and destination addresses were shielded with zk proofs. The attackers could see that “some” assets existed, but they could not confirm exact balances or craft a clean withdrawal transaction without generating valid selective disclosure proofs they did not possess. By the time they realized the funds were not freely spendable under the compromised key, the internal response team had already rotated the remaining signers and frozen the script. - The only assets that left the platform were tokens that relied purely on centralized hot wallet controls. ADA and NIGHT stayed put because their movement was gated by on chain script conditions and privacy constraints that the stolen credentials alone could not satisfy. In short: the keys were compromised, the script conditions and zk requirements were not.

For years, they mocked Cardano for moving too slowly. They ridiculed Charles Hoskinson for insisting on rigorous research, formal methods, and security-first engineering. But here's something the crypto industry desperately needs to understand: Speed means nothing if everything you've built can be compromised overnight. Every exploit, every compromised wallet, and every catastrophic security failure reminds us that innovation without discipline comes at a terrible price. Cardano was never supposed to win a race to the finish line. It was built to endure. And Midnight carries that philosophy forward, bringing privacy, selective disclosure, and security-conscious architecture into an increasingly dangerous digital world. Neither is immune to vulnerabilities. No system is. But designing for security from the beginning is fundamentally different from treating it as an afterthought. The future of blockchain won't belong simply to whoever builds the fastest. It will belong to those who earn and preserve trust. That is why I believe in Cardano and Midnight. The world doesn't need another blockchain that promises everything. It needs infrastructure it can depend on. cardano:native midnight-3:native
CT spent years clowning Charles and Cardano for obsessing over formal verification. Now look at all these crypto hacks and the latest Binance drama 💀 Makes you wonder how safe $NIGHT really is. Turns out building Cardano and Midnight with security in mind from day one might actually matter. $NIGHT $ADA

NEW: Elon Musk says "everyday is zeroday" in response to the Binance hack. Last month, Charles Hoskinson noted, "only formal methods can save us from the AI scourge." $NIGHT "has already been transitioning everything to formal verification," according to Midnight Foundation CTO.

Generate DUST on Midnight mainnet — right before you need it. DUST is what pays for Midnight transactions, and it comes from the NIGHT you already hold. Once your NIGHT is registered to a DUST address, it generates up to 5 DUST per NIGHT. In the 1AM wallet: 1. Create or restore a wallet, check your NIGHT is there, and keep a little ADA aside for the registration fee. 2. Tap Generate DUST and sign. That registration switches generation on. 3. Let it build. The first DUST can take up to ~12 hours to appear — so register ahead of the moment you plan to transact, not at it. Your NIGHT is never locked and never has to move. One caution: treat this as a test of the mechanism, not a new home for your stack. Try it with a fresh wallet and a small amount first. #MidnightNetwork #NIGHT #DUST #Cardano

It's so fucking crazy that crypto started with decentralization, uncensorability and digital cash but somehow we ended up with most money on exchanges, the most hyped blockchains being freaking robinhood chain & other centralized chains and the main use-case of crypfo being gambling & mirroring the dollar on-chain - but not like digital cash, no we also added freezability. So it's actually worse than cash. And when you talk to people working in the space and tell them you're there for decentralization, somehow you're the weird one. The majority of this industry has seriously gone down then wrong path.
