Malaysia is on track to become a high-income nation by the end of this decade. That is a major national achievement, and one worth celebrating.
But the harder question is this: will high-income status be felt across the country?
So as Malaysia moves closer to high-income status, the question is not only whether the country crosses the threshold. It is whether Malaysia crosses it together.
Sharing here the visualised version of our subnational growth report, which presents the key findings in a more accessible and interactive way. subnational-report.vercel.ap…

Daddy joke @Petronas
Kadang-kadang staff kena explain joke dia sendiri:
“Texas tu Chukai”
Barulah faham daddy joke ni.
Most of the team mates masa tu dah pencen sekarang.
I met wonderful people at my first job in Malaysia - Ng Kim Giap, Syed Hakhiri, Effendi Nawi, Norlina Yusai and many others.
Beberapa orang telah meninggal.
Yang buat daddy joke ni (first time dengar), nama Kak Ella, juga dah meninggal.
Sampaikan salam kepada semua, bagi yang membaca.
Sometimes it’s the small things that reveal systemic blind spots toward the Indian community in Malaysia.
Even something as basic as entering a full name. Many Malaysian Indians have a ‘/’ in our IC names, yet forms often can’t process it.

And what does overtime mean?
The proposed budget cuts for the Health Ministry will only affect non-essential expenditure such as overseas travel, official functions and meetings, and overtime allowances.
Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad gave an assurance that “essential healthcare services – including patient treatment, emergency care, all core essential services, as well as the supply of medicines and medical devices – will not face any reduction”.
However, the ministry had already put in place cost-cutting measures in March, before the Finance Ministry directive to slash budgets.
