We’re partnering with the Federation for Innovation in Democracy (FIDE North America) to host a first-of-its-kind Deliberative Facilitation Masterclass, and registration is now open!
The hands-on training will break down the design decisions, intuition, and facilitation skills needed at each stage, centered on a comprehensive competence model. This training is particularly focused on up-leveling experienced facilitators who have run some form of deliberative process in the past, but we strongly encourage anyone with general facilitation experience to apply.
Register here: fidemocracy.org/deliberative…
Join us either October 15th-17th in Washington, DC, or October 22-24 in San Francisco, CA. Get in touch ([email protected]) if you have any questions — and please pass this on to anyone you think would be interested!
We’re also sponsoring a range of scholarships to make sure that anyone who is accepted to the training can attend.
🧵 We are likely to need better democratic systems to navigate the challenges posed by AI advances.
Today we're releasing the Democratic Capabilities Gap Map (democracybuild.org) to accelerate work toward making better democracy a reality.

Our ultimate goal is that key actors (e.g., governments, corporations, or transnational institutions) making consequential decisions — especially on AI — can empower democratic processes that are sufficiently high-quality to take on binding, high-stakes, complex decisions.
This is a living project. Contributions are welcome.
