The disgraced former head of German Intelligence, August Hanning, who is accused of having been a spy for an unnamed foreign government, also serves on the Advisory Board of UANI (United Against Nuclear Iran), which many suspect is an Israeli intelligence front in Washington.

Performative security is such a huge part of the German complex. Whether there is a threat or not, walking with a police bodyguard makes it look like you are brave - even if the square is empty!

Not so surprising, really, given that they grew out of the anti-nuclear movement, not the climate movement. Hard to abandon a movement's founding myth.
They're also exceptionally groupthink-prone and status-conscious, which limits their capacity for self-correction.

Germany is more penetrated than a pincushion.
Since 1949, the Federal Republic has failed to forge a grand strategic narrative or an identity capable of sustaining itself. It stands for nothing in particular. Its values are badly communicated and frequently at odds with one another, and its sole declared raison d'état is unwavering support for Israel.
Without a story to hold them, loyalties drift and are ready to be captured

It’s an irony of history that the German Greens, more than any other party perhaps in the last 15 years in Europe, were responsible for *increased* Co2 emissions.
They led on ending nuclear power (replaced by fossil fuels) and helped stop next gen of high speed German trains.

Please don't buy into this nonsense. More than a fifth of Jamaican surnames are Scottish in origin. Glasgow was built on the tobacco and sugar trade. Look at the street names. Scots made up 30% of Caribbean plantation owners.

A huge amount of Germany’s intelligence comes from tips from our allies. Our intelligence agencies are notorious underachievers at, erm, gathering actual intelligence.

#Germany: Security sources say some of the high-level material former #BND chief #Hanning and Manfred D. handled came from foreign partner services, so British and US intelligence may have been compromised.
- The fear is not only leaked files but that US or British agents and informants could be identified from what was passed on.
- Partners were reportedly notified before the arrests.
- Western intelligence sources call the alleged breach a major coup for a foreign service and a potential blow to the intelligence-sharing alliance.
- #MI6, #GCHQ and several US agencies are reviewing sensitive information shared with European allies over the relevant period. The priority is protecting sources who may have been put at risk.
- Similar audits are expected among Germany’s other intelligence partners. Counterparts were reportedly notified before Tuesday’s arrests.
- The material included classified files from foreign partner agencies, as well as papers on Iran’s nuclear programme and the Russian military.
- Former MI6 officer Matthew Dunn says MI6 will be combing everything shared with the BND to see whether it compromises MI6 activities or people.
