The Ranak MLA residency controversy has once again raised serious questions about political privilege, misuse of public funds, and lack of accountability in governance.
People pay heavy taxes expecting better roads, healthcare, education, and employment opportunities, yet crores are often spent on lavish residences, renovations, security, and luxury amenities for politicians. Such controversies fuel public anger because they highlight the widening gap between citizens and those in power. Transparency and strict audits are necessary to ensure public money is spent for the people, not political comfort.

35 years ago on this day, Girija Tickoo was brutally gang rap*d and, tortured and killed by Islamists.
She was cut into two pieces in a carpenter's saw while still alive, right from the middle of her body.
Most of the Islamists who committed this brutality were her neighbours; in fact, she considered some of them her brothers.
She was a beautiful girl, but her body was found in a horrific condition..

I am unable to accept the absence of Ratan Tata.
India’s economy stands on the cusp of a historic leap forward.
And Ratan’s life and work have had much to do with our being in this position.
Hence, his mentorship and guidance at this point in time would have been invaluable.
With him gone, all we can do is to commit to emulating his example. Because he was a businessman for whom financial wealth and success was most useful when it was put to the service of the global community.
