A correction and my apologies regarding this tweet ^ nitter.cf/dgrdon/status/21154605…
It's my bad for publishing about this on here based on convos with sources without being specific enough, without enough confirmation, and with adding too much of my own analysis. I apologize. I know it's hard to trust info during campaigns and I'm sorry I added to that. /end
After I initially tweeted, someone else close to the campaign told me they'd gotten info from the campaign that matched the tweet. So I kept it up. They didn't mention internal polling numbers. Bradford was even with Chow or ahead in public polls at the time. 4/6
I spoke with my source again and they clarified they were talking about concerns due to low turnout in advance voting, plus public polling. I had misunderstood. 3/6
Yesterday, someone from the Chow campaign reached out to say if my claim was that their internal polling was showing Chow behind at that time, my source was not credible. 2/6
I need to make a correction here. I had misinterpreted what one source said (and which another source confirmed in general but not in specifics). I should not have implied I had solid info about the Chow campaign's internal polling. I apologize for misleading you. 1/6

Canada just signed an MOU which deepens military cooperation, intelligence sharing and training with the UAE, which is arming mass killings in Sudan.

Exit polls at advance voting were very weak for Chow, and around when I posted this (Oct 21) Bradford was peaking in public opinion polling. Then thousands of previously silent people spoke up in support of Chow. Polling changed. She won big!

NEW: Canadian government officials sought approval from their American counterparts before releasing parts of a damning report about how the CIA resettled alleged Nazi war criminals in Canada, documents show.
The Americans seemingly did not approve, and Canada subsequently gave the U.S. a heads up when the Federal Court ordered that some previously secret parts of the report be released anyway. readthemaple.com/canada-soug…

Hundreds or thousands of people who had been silent so far became vocal in the last week in their support of Chow or non-support of Bradford. We'll see tonight!
Two cautions on relying on polling:
- Especially in municipal elections (and particularly at the ward level), ground game mobilization is super important and not captured in polling.
- The "Shy Tory" factor. People often tell pollsters they are less conservative than they are.

Our Toronto municipal election coverage is all here: thegrindmag.ca/tag/municipal…

ALT Cover of the The Grind newspaper. It is an illustration. The top has "THE GRIND" in black, yellow and pink. Below is an illustration in green, yellow and purple of mayoral candidates racing through Trinity Bellwoods park. Olivia Chow is in the lead on a bike and Brad Bradford is a bit back in an excavator. It was "The Municipal Election Race" and there are people in the background saying "Aw. A race" and "Who's that again?" "Run!"
