The most practical of all methods for controlling the mind is the habit of keeping it busy with a definite purpose, backed by a definite plan.

Do not fall for this mentality of ease and comfort; we are actually tough creatures built to learn from and adapt to pressure, harnessing it for our own power.

Six books I am reading right now 1) Tantrāloka by Abhinavagupta, namely chapter one and fifteen. This book is encyclopedic and isn’t meant to be read from front to back. Chapter 1 deals with the overall theory and system as a whole. Chapter 15 teaches ritual procedure. 2) Tantrāsara, is Abhinavagupta’s condensed version of the Tantrāloka’s teachings. Since most will never read the Tantrāloka, Abhinava wrote the Tantrāsara (Essence of Tantra) as a prose version. It converts each book of the loka into a brief chapter. Read this. “Since the Tantrāloka is extremely vast, its detailed study is exhausting for people of lesser perseverance. Therefore, this [Tantrasāra], which is an epitome [or essence] of that work, is being composed on a smaller scale so that it may be equally effective. Therefore, study this [text].” 3) Shiva Sutras with commentary by Swami Lakshmanjoo. This is an inexplainable scripture. Revealed by Shiva, this is composed of very ‘absolute’ sutras - for example, chaitanyamātmā: The independent state of supreme consciousness is the reality of everything. (1.1) jñānaṁ bandhaḥ: Knowing differentiatedly is bondage, and not knowing undifferentiatedly is bondage. (1.2) nartaka ātmā: The actor playing in this drama of the universe is his own Self. (1.9) jāgrat-svapna-suṣupta-bhede turyābhoga-sambhavaḥ: Such a heroic yogi experiences the expansive state of turya [fourth state / God-consciousness] in the differentiated states of waking, dreaming, and deep sleep. (1.7) vismayo yoga-bhūmikāḥ: The state of perpetual awe and wonder is the stage of Yoga. (1.12) Theres no way for me to describe this text.. so I put some of its sutras. One thing I will say: Notice the gap between 1.1 and 1.2 First, the absolute non-dual reality is established. Then with this as the basis, it moves onto “jñānaṁ bandhaḥ” (Knowing differentiatedly is bondage, and not knowing undifferentiatedly is bondage). Notice how in sutra 1.1, all is one. Sutra 1.2 moves away from this unity - attaching wrong and right to it. Finally, not in the pic are: 4) Mahanirvana Tantra, for understanding a specialized tantric practice involving the ‘mantra body’ 5) Sri Śankarācarya’s Dhanyastakam, which answers the question ‘who can be called truly wealthy?’ And, 6) the Complete Hindi by Rupert Snell… because I need to learn this language.

The single most powerful habit that helped me build 2 billion dollar companies: Waking up at 4:45am. Over the last 14 years, I've woken up at 4:45am every single day, and along the way I've: - Tested every alarm clock, sleep tracker & productivity hack - Coached 100+ entrepreneurs on morning routines But I always return to these 5 steps that make it stick:

The greatest skill you can develop is the ability to figure it out. That single decision separates the ones who wait from the ones who win. It's the mindset that says you might not know everything yet, but you'll learn, you'll adapt, and you'll keep pushing until something clicks. People underestimate how far that kind of resilience takes you. When you can figure things out, you stop being scared of new challenges. You stop waiting for perfect instructions or someone to guide you step by step. You trust your capacity to learn in real time. You trust your instincts. You trust your grind. That's when life stops feeling overwhelming and starts feeling like a game you can actually master. And the truth is, once you become the person who can figure anything out, you become unstoppable. You stop folding when things get messy and you stop looking for excuses when things get hard. You start creating solutions instead of searching for them. That's the moment life shifts in your favor, because it's not luck anymore. It's you.

Reverse-engineer the person you want to become. Close your eyes and picture them. Calm under pressure. Wise. Respected. Impossible to rattle. Now work backwards. What skills made them valuable? What standards earned the respect? What experiences shaped that thinking? What sacrifices did they make that almost everyone refuses? Everyone admires the finished product. Almost nobody studies the build. Stop admiring. Start assembling the pieces.
