Many oligarchs are convinced that eternal life is a class birthright. It doesn’t matter that the elixir of life everlasting is likely a fantasy — it’s the quest itself that results in social and legal architecture that gives the rich unacceptable power. jacobin.com/2023/01/immortal…

#DEI for #AIEthics #AIEthics seeks alignment of #AI tech with human values. But what if these "human values" are already ethnocentric and hegemonic? Who (or what) has the power to decide what "our" shared values are? bit.ly/diversifyAI

I’m a savvy, modern researcher. I have dozens of windows and hundreds of tabs open at all times, each containing articles I’ll never read. I yearn for Chrome to crash and deliver me from a nightmare of my own creation.

The price tag for enacting the most basic measures needed to mitigate climate change might seem steep — until you realize just how devastatingly expensive the natural disasters exacerbated by climate change are and will be very soon. jacobin.com/2024/10/climate-…

Our society is facing a growing crisis of loneliness. The problem isn’t social media, popular culture, or city living — it’s capitalism. jacobin.com/2021/08/capitali…

As Save The Children point out, the Israeli does not only incarcerate children. It subjects them to sexual violence. Thousands of Palestinians, ranging from kids to an 82-year-old woman with Alzheimers, are incarcerated by Israel. Their only crime: being Palestinian.
When my husband’s cousin Tsachi was kidnapped he was in his pyjamas covered with the blood of his child who Hamas murdered. He is not the same as the violent terrorists that Sinwar wanted to set free. You disgust me.

❤️🇮🇱❤️🇮🇱❤️🇮🇱❤️🇮🇱❤️🇮🇱❤️🇮🇱 Note the difference. We Jews cheer and sing, “Am Yisrael Chai!” (“The people of Israel live!”) …In sharp contrast with the mobs all around the world and Gaza calling for the destruction of Israel and extermination of the Jewish people. And in sharp contrast with the calls to end the Jews, Israel treats and cures thousands of Palestinian children in its hospitals every year, along with Palestinian adults, and picks up the tab. And usually for very expensive life-saving treatment. Cancer treatment, heart surgeries. We Jews value life. All lives. 20% of Israel’s citizens are Arab Muslims who live in peace and productivity in Israel. They are doctors and lawyers and represent their communities in the Knesset. One makes legal determination for all of Israel from his seat on the Israeli Supreme Court. This is what’s possible if you aren’t trying to exterminate the Jewish people.
