Obama tonight on his Cheesecake Factory line: "They mobilized a whole of government response to that joke. Not to inflation, but to that joke. The White House even called the Secretary of the Treasury. This is the man who is in charge of the economy. The person who's supposed to be figuring out how to make your life more affordable. The guy who's supposed to be figuring out how to lower inflation. And reduce interest rates. They told him he should hold a press conference in front of the Cheesecake Factory."

ALT The Indian Computing Olympiad, which organizes the Indian part of the informatics olympiad and selects India’s team for the International Olympiad in Informatics, is setting up a Technical Committee comprised of volunteers who can help in the various technical aspects of the process. The main and immediate responsibility is helping in the technical setup of the ~35 test centres for ZCO (Zonal Computing Olympiad) and INOI (Indian National Olympiad in Informatics) which involves coordinating remotely with the system admins of the institutions which host the contests. This requires sufficient experience with installing Ubuntu and the various issues which could crop up during that. We use a custom bootable Ubuntu image which is installed on the machines in the centres. The bulk of this work will be in the 1-2 months before ZCO and INOI - Nov, Dec, Jan, and Feb.

"University researchers built a satellite that tracks people from low Earth orbit and dispatches a 5 kg payload to within .1 meter of their position, traveling at Mach 25 to anywhere on Earth in under 5 minutes. They suggest it could be used to deliver greeting cards."
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.

This week, I was at AGNTCon. I may be biased but Agent Substrate is going to change this industry. We spent the last 8-9 months working on this and it’s incredible to see so many companies are aligning on it now.

So this is an interesting story. How eMudhra became the foundation of global internet. Im surprised that no news channels are digging up the root CA history. Maybe people dont know that this is public information.
groups.google.com/g/mozilla.…
So this is the discussion list for mozilla security policy back in 2018. When emudhra first applied for inclusion as a root ca.
One of the maintainers questions eMudhra's credentials as an "Indian co".
The filing in response is very interesting.
"eMudhra has been a licensed CA under
Controller of Certifying Authorities which operates the Indian
Government Root for more than 10 years and is also a licensed CA in
Mauritius under Ministry of IT, Mauritius. eMudhra has issued over 35
million digital certificates (3% of India’s population).
eMudhra is a critical partner to Digital India and supports the usage of
digital signatures on a variety of eGovernance platforms for
Government of India including Company Law Board, Income Tax, Goods
and Service Tax (GST / VAT), eProcurement, Travel Portals, Customs,
Banking etc. eMudhra’s solutions power digital signature and other
multifactor authentication for over 35 Banks which include domestic
and global Banks. eMudhra also has a proprietary CA solution which is
today used by the Indian Army and other defense establishments."
Eventually mozilla HAD to accept, because emudhra claimed publicly - "But this was not a complete Webtrust audited setup. Rather, it is under Government of India." – at San Francisco, CA

THE DIPLOMAT: Listening to people who know what they're talking about and articulate themselves in actual sentences makes me homesick for politicians who are both smart and compassionate and love their country more than $$$.
