Which G7 country goes bankrupt first?
Not Japan - they owe 204% debt to GDP but its all debt owned by Japanese institutions not foreign institutions so its safe.
Who do you owe is important.
Not the USA - they owe 126% debt to GDP and $1.4t in annual interest but they owe dollars and print dollars so they safe. The only way the US defaults is if they choose to.
What currency you owe is important.
Germany - half its debt is held by Germany but they use Euro and cant print however they have the highest EU bond rating and are a EU flight to safety.
Canada - 111% debt to GDP, but lowest government debt - safe. Best books of the 7.
UK - 5.4% to borrow highest of the G7 but clear.
Italy - on the ropes - 138% debt to GDP
Credit rating lower than France.
Owe little to foreigners compared to France. Cant print Euros.
France - the biggest risk of default of the G7 - 118% debt to GDP - owes 50% of debt to foreigners. Deficit is 5.4% of GDP. Pay 1.9% on old debt but 4.9% on new debts with massive refinancing due in 2026. Cant print Euros.
High probability France will default.
Now do you understand why there are “riots” in France?
All societal issues are based on economic issues.

Last year, Govt cut GST on ACs, TVs & appliances by 10%.
It was celebrated as “GST Mahotsav.”
But in 2026, appliance manufacturers have already raised prices twice.
And now, another 8–10% hike is being discussed from 01 Oct.
Who actually benefited from the GST cut?

China is building dominance in the industries that will define the next 20 years- rare earths, magnets, batteries, EVs, robotics, semiconductors and advanced manufacturing. JL Mag is a perfect example. It already dominates high-performance rare-earth magnets and is now moving into components for humanoid robots. The strategy is simple: own the raw material, the technology, the manufacturing and eventually the entire ecosystem.
Meanwhile, much of Indian business is still chasing softer opportunities- bottled water, ice creams, snacks, packaged foods and instant delivery. Even our great software success is largely built on labour-cost arbitrage.
China is building tomorrow’s infrastructure. We, in India, should be asking- what are we building that the world will need tomorrow?

You will be shocked to see the income inequality in India.
Currently india’s per-capita income is around $2,800/year.
Now let’s remove the richest 1%.
It drops to — $2,189/year
Now remove the richest 10%.
Remaining 90%:
— $1,316/year
— $3.61/day = ₹339
Means around 125 cr people of india earn less than ₹339 ( average og 90%)
And here’s where it gets interesting.
$1,316 is lower than the per-capita GDP of several African countries, including:
🇧🇯 Benin — $1,658
🇨🇲 Cameroon — $1,972
🇸🇳 Senegal — $1,955
🇰🇲 Comoros — $2,056
🇨🇬 Republic of Congo — $2,515
🇬🇭 Ghana — $3,257
So, after removing just the richest 10%, the calculated average for the remaining 90% of Indians falls below the per-capita GDP of several African countries.
Whether GDP grows at 7.8% or 2.6% matters far less to ordinary people if the gains are concentrated at the top.
Growth matters. But who gets the growth matters even more.
The government should worry less about its billionaire friends and more about the 90% of Indians who actually vote for it.

TRUMP’S APPROVAL RATING HITS RECORD-LOW 33%; DEMOCRATS LEAD GOP BY 7.5 POINTS
Donald Trump’s approval rating has fallen to a record-low 33%, with growing voter dissatisfaction over the economy and cost of living.
Adding to Republican concerns ahead of the November midterms, 46% of voters say Trump is making it harder for Republican congressional candidates to win, while Democrats hold a 7.5-point lead over Republicans in voting intentions.
The latest FT–Focaldata poll, conducted among 1,914 registered voters, suggests Trump’s political standing could increasingly become a liability for the GOP.
