Belleville synagogue shootingEyewitness footage captured about half a block from the Sons of Jacob Synagogue after the majority of the gunfire Sunday evening during Yom Kippur services.The person filming was backing away and recorded a large bang followed by three more shots.Suspect Sean Ward, 29, of Quinte West allegedly opened fire with a shotgun on Const. Jeff Smith, who was stationed outside. A second officer also fired. Both the officer (critical but stable) and the suspect (life-threatening) were shot. Roughly 20–30 rounds were fired. Congregants inside were unharmed. SIU is investigating.
