One odd thing about Reload is that since it’s adapting the male route of P3P, if something isn’t explicitly stated in portable’s script, then it doesn’t happen. It makes a lot of scenes feel really flat in comparison, and it’s why everyone seems so sedentary in Reload

One incredible aspect of the OG Persona 1 was that the theme of Kandori, the main antagonist, had a leitmotif that would be pervasive throughout the entire game. It was basically *the* main theme of P1 Unfortunately all of this was completely scrubbed out in the PSP version.

it sacrifices quite a few of the original game’s unique features and atmosphere just for the sake of homogenization and doesn’t really make substantial improvements where it would actually matter. that won’t ever be in the conversation of a perfect remake imo

Every other post is proving my point that persona fans don’t want to engage with a game. They want the game to tailor to them. And I just have no respect for that when they bash other fans. Especially when games like Persona 1 are the easiest game for anyone to get into.

I have the same problem with P4 & P4 Revival. I appreciate the efforts that went into the new UIs, but the original PS2 had a very clear intent & identity, while P4R is evidently more iterative of 3+5. As a result there is a loss of thematic relevance. Iykyk.

You guys keep talking of visual cohesion but I don't even think P3 Reload's battle UI is even remotely as good as P3/FES UI so what's the point of the cohesion if the final result is less inspired and distinctive? Shouldn't they be cohesive to the game they're remaking instead?

Like the larpers and elititsts arent acting like the original persona 1 were played like by 10 people and was famously considered mid to below average Like if this formula of the first three games worked, Persona 3 wouldnt have made a drastic shift to the usual formula then.
