Absolutely. You’d think someone who’s been at Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen would understand what a poor message that sends.
Totally agree! I’ve stated regardless of the situation we’re currently in XA is intelligent enough to get us out of it.
However, his comments on Wednesday night were a huge red flag. They were a disgrace. 6K fans travelled midweek to Liverpool and spent their hard earned cash. For him to not even consider the implication of those comments is incredibly naive.
I’d argue the Carabao Cup is a lot more important to Chelsea than it was to Liverpool on Wednesday.
I hope @NizaarKinsella @BobbyVincentFL or the likes really press him on those comments today.
Arteta identified the players that weren’t right at Arsenal early on and moved them on. Alonso did that with Sanchez and he has to do it now with Fofana. Even with injuries, he needs to be strong and say “he won’t play for me again.”
He doesn’t give a toss does he? Throwing a strop likely cos he’s been dropped from the league games.
He’s poisonous.
Wesley Fofana missed wide and Chelsea are knocked out. ❌ nitter.cf/AustinReyle/status/211…
Hi @TheFCA can you please check the bank account of a Mr Wesley Fofana? I would like to report some suspicious activity.
Alonso’s lost me these last few days. He chose to play Fofana and to not take him off, and to not bring on Estevao. Now out of one of the two trophies we could win to a Liverpool side that didn’t even care. Horrific night all round.
We just continually offer teams routes back into games with unforced errors. Doesn’t seem to matter who plays. IQ of a cabbage.

Michael Carrick has been sacked by Manchester United. It was thought the team’s 2-0 win at Chelsea on Oct 31, where Bruno Fernandes scored both goals, would have granted him more time, but Sunday’s 0-5 defeat to Aston Villa has proved to be the final straw.

Have you ever seen a Ballon D’or winner where they haven’t been voted either the best player in their league, the best player at the World Cup/Euro’s or the best player in the CL? I’m genuinely asking. When have you ever seen anyone like that win the Ballon D’or. It’s a farce.
A CF who didn’t top score in the CL or World Cup and didn’t win either isn’t the best player in the world imo.
Bayern Munich have a monopoly on German football. Racking up tonnes of goals there is credible but doesn’t separate the best from the best.
Just an opinion.
We’re just over an hour away from a confirmed defeat to a United team led by Wes Brown, John O’Shea and Ji-sung Park next week.
Avram Grant LC final v Tottenham
AVB 3-5 v Arsenal
Potter 4-1 v Brighton
Maresca 2-0 v Ipswich
That from Alonso yesterday was right amongst them. Even with a night’s sleep I’m just totally baffled he could get it so so wrong yesterday. I’m worried.
You don’t lose at home to that lot. You just don’t. And you definitely don’t give them that much respect. Head is on Mars.
- Not prepared for a high press fast start in an away game
- Anderson out of position
- Fernandez offering no defensive cover
- Inverted full backs
- Getting the ball constantly to wingers who are double marked and hoping they do something
A Maresca special today .
Had Forest and Villa avoided each other last season we could have seen back to back all English EL finals. Three of the last four ECLs have been won by PL teams. European football in general is just a lot easier than it was.
Great that Bournemouth are doing well. Think the issue is it’s only really four clubs competing with the PL teams (PSG, RM, Barca, BM). In the last six seasons, almost all PL defeats in CL knockout stages have been versus those four.
