A very close friend of mine, Jeremy Kaufman, passed away suddenly over the weekend. Jeremy was an integral part of my poker network in LA and Chicago. Jeremy was a very successful wealthy businessman with 3 teenage children and left us way too early at the young age of 56. He certainly didn’t act his age. He was always the life of the party. He always had a smile on his face and made people laugh. I’m certain he was the most loved person in our poker group. Everyone loved spending time with him. His attitude at the table was perhaps the best of anyone we know. Never once did he ever complain about losing a hand. No matter the size of the pot or how bad of a beat it was, he would lose graciously with a smile. He popularized the phrase “fair” as a comment after an all in run it twice situation where the result clearly wasn’t fair. Sometimes players who didn’t know him would say “wtf how was that fair” and we’d have to explain that it’s what we say no matter how fair or unfair the hand is. He also popularized “drats” as a comment after losing a big pot. Jeremy really was a one of a kind unicorn. His humor, his positive attitude, his words of wisdom, his caring for all of his friends made him so amazing to be around, whether it was poker or vacations or dinners or just phone calls. I met Jeremy in 2020 when Phil Hellmuth brought me into his online poker group during COVID with Danielle, Matusow, Jason Otto, Markus, DC Lawyer, etc. Of course I knew who Jeremy was from his infamous appearance on Poker Night in America. We quickly became good virtual friends and the first time we met in person it was like we had known each other forever. He treated everyone with so much love. A year or 2 later, he became an integral part of the Chicago poker community with Luiz, Ala, Texas Mike, Pink, etc. So many times he told me how thankful he was for us putting this group together and how poker was the most fun thing in the world for him and how much he loved our group. He started off as a competitive recreational player. By the end, he was considered one of the best players in our group. It shows how insanely smart he was for such a successful businessman to teach himself without coaching how to go from a fun player to one of the toughest players in the high stakes Chicago scene. Jeremy, we will all miss you so much. It’s hard to even put into words how much we will miss you. Getting that call was one of the worst feelings of my life. I cannot imagine what his family is going through right now, especially his children. Remember to hug your loved ones every day and live life to the fullest.

I’ve had a lot of people asking me about the botched execution of Christa Pike in Tennessee, as well as the upcoming execution by firing squad that’s supposed to be livestreamed. Having spent nearly 20 years on death row, my thoughts and feelings about these things are so vast that I sometimes struggle to find a place to begin. I became close friends with a man who had committed murder. He was like a brother to me. I once watched him break down crying, trembling as he told me he wished he was as evil as the world believed him to be, because then he wouldn’t have to care about what he’d done. Fifteen years later, he was still having nightmares about it. I know in my soul that he would never hurt another person again. But I’ve also watched a man being stabbed to death in prison. I cried for days afterward, and something inside me was changed forever. I learned that some people are capable of extraordinary transformation, while others remain capable of terrible violence even behind prison walls. There are no simple answers here. No slogans or political arguments that can adequately address the complexity of human beings, guilt, punishment, and suffering. But there is one thing I want to say about the upcoming execution by firing squad. Don’t watch it. Whatever you believe about the death penalty, even if you think the person being executed deserves to die, don’t watch it. You cannot witness a human being being killed and simply walk away unchanged. What you see becomes part of you. It follows you into places you never expected it to reach. There are things I witnessed in prison that I would give anything to forget, things that still cast a shadow over my life decades later. There’s a difference between understanding that terrible things happen in the world and deliberately making yourself a spectator to them. I don’t have all the answers about justice, punishment, or forgiveness. But I do know that killing another human being should never become so ordinary that we turn it into something to watch from the comfort of our living rooms.

Come for the poker chip in the scotch glass (accidents happen 🤦🏻‍♀️). Stay for the ensuing table talk about enlarged appearance of said chip through glass? 🙈 Refraction, kids. The correct term is refraction. 👌🏽🤣 @table1vegas #PhysicsIsHard #twss #MakePokerFunAgain #twss

It doesn’t make you a lib to be disgusted to see a man get murdered for practicing his first and second amendment rights. Blindly defending ICE because Trump and his administration tells you to makes you the opposite of a patriot and is as anti-American as it gets.

Starting an IG page for long drive golf & fitness related content. Would like to kick it off with a fun video montage summarizing where/how I started, progressions, bloopers etc. Any wizards interested in a job? Hmu. Documented pretty much everything, so no shortage of footage.

Saw this unfold in real time last night. 😳 I was going to post but couldn’t find a clever caption which annoyed the hell out of me. Just showed this to kiddo & he snap goes “What’s red & smells like blue paint?” Damn it. Doesn’t even have social media & crushes me. 🙄

@LasVegasLocally Was insane how quickly a bit of smoke turned into a giant blaze. Being that close to the 15 & so many other buildings? Have to imagine it could have become catastrophic real fast…😬 Props & ty to @LasVegasFD for prompt response. They were all over it. 🙌🏽🫡

My friend is fostering this cutie girl, Aly who they think is no older than 2 years old. She was treated the absolute worst, malnourished and not taken care of at all so she needs someone patient who is willing to work with her. She is ALMOST fully potty trained, has been around kids and doesn’t have an issue but has a little bit of separation anxiety (in fear she will get abandoned again). Please retweet to spread the word or message me with any additional questions!

The offspring scored a 35 (perfect is 36) on the ACT. That puts him in top 99.5% of test results nationwide. I get caught up on spelling the word ‘definitely’ correctly every.single.time. Parental run good is real. Lfgggggggg!!!!🤯🤷🏻‍♀️🙌🏽🥳

Making a straight flush is always gonna be pretty rad. But showing down TWO straight flushes in a single hand while also coolering the SHIT outta everyone in the process? My GAWD!!! The stuff dreams are made of. 😱🤯😍💸💸💸🤩 Thanks @Table1Vegas for the double board PLO bomb pot shenanigans which led to what’s likely the sickest hand I’ll ever play. You guys really are making poker fun again!!! For me, anyway. 🔥🤣 #EzGame #Skillz #AriaPoker Video cred: @THEREALPAULGB
