I'm excited to announce that @VemetricHQ is now Open Source 🎉
After a long period of thinking about this, and exchanging with others, I finally decided to operate Vemetric under an open-core model, making its codebase openly available
Let me tell you a bit more about it 👇
I recently read the take that "it's much better to have the landing page / marketing pages / docs in the same repo as the application itself", so that your agent easily can update both at once .. and I thought that I should maybe do it for Vemetric soon
but actually .. with the latest changes in Claude Code (Desktop App) it's soo easy to just give access to the other repo as well and Claude will create both PRs at once and handle them properly .. absolutely no need for it
The security incidents this October showed us how vulnerable the systems we developed over the past decades really are (yesterday I spent my evening rotating all the secrets I had stored in Northflank env variables, yay)
it’s probably going to get even worse in the near future, but I always try to see a positive outcome of such events
when this cat and mouse game is over, I believe that our industry is coming out of this stronger, with more awareness and more security built into every aspect of the software stack .. which is indeed a great outcome
let’s support each other, dunk less on each other, while keep talking openly about the issues at hand and find solutions together

🌏 Introduce x18n, the ultimate toolkit for managing i18n files!
You get CLI, linter, interactive UI, LSP, editor support, CI/CD, and native agent integrations. Make sure you have your locale files up to date and agents in the loop
For any frameworks!

I'm piling up more and more projects and resources on Hetzner, and I have the feeling this is just the beginning :)
I added view counts to the blog posts on my personal website
they're powered by the Vemetric API and link to the public dashboard :D
Vemetric's ingestion engine can now be scaled horizontally 🚀
Outbid's viral launch broke Vemetric and showed me I had to change something. While there are still further improvements to tackle, I'm confident that Vemetric is already able to handle such viral launches
I published this follow-up blog post 👇

big companies shipping slopsites like this 😢
try.cloudflare.com
they updated it, it looks better now .. while still a bit sloppy, at least it is responsive and doesn't have weird sections in between
I'm a fan of shipping in iterations and improving over time .. it's also totally fine to use AI .. but they made it look like a proper product launch and the landing page got absolutely no love, that's what made me sad
especially because I like Cloudflare, a lot, and I think it's good to hold each other accountable .. especially in times where everyone can spin up such a landing page with barely any resources .. they definitely can do better, and braydon already made a statement on this: nitter.cf/burcs/status/210172563…
been using DeepSeek v4.1 Flash more and more recently (via OpenCode Go + T3 Code as Agent UI) and I have to say it really is a joy to work with!
also, compared to the token hungry monster Astra is, it's soo cheap and fast! OpenCode Go is only $10 per month and together with DeepSeek v4.1 Flash you got *plenty* of usage available

I built a tiny tool for devs launching apps.
It's called LaunchFrame.
Add your App Store, Google Play, or website URL and it turns your app icon into a polished 7-second launch video, like the one below.
I built this in my free time over two days.
Here's how it works 👇
Vemetric is growing steadily again and it motivates me a lot to push it further and turn it into an established player in this analytics market
The summer was kinda unproductive for me regarding building my products, I think I also needed a break and enjoyed the time with family and friends
it feels great to get back into a shipping habit ❤️
had some good fun today together with Astra, refactoring Vemetric's landing page illustrations to be interactive elements with tiny animations :)
