You can start a lodge now
W E L C O M E T O L O D G E
I’m delighted to announce Urban Tiger’s first product, Lodge, now generally available. To host a lodge, just go to urbit.house. To be a guest, wait till someone invites you!
Lodge is “half Eyes Wide Shut, half Chatham House Rules.” It’s a private chat/forum with strong anonymity. Everyone gets a random name from the blockchain. No one, not even you, has any record of who is who. Your forum runs on your private, encrypted cloud server (*).
Lodge is for all human beings who cannot speak their true minds if there is any risk that they might be “held accountable.” We do everything possible to prevent doxing. You can even cover your financial tracks with ZCash. (But you don’t need to know anything about crypto.)
Who needs a lodge? Your office needs a lodge. Your campus or department. Your agency. Start a lodge, and find a way to get the invite link or QR code to your founding members.
Secret societies are a human universal. It doesn’t get more secret than Lodge.
To use Lodge, you and your guests install the House web app (app stores don’t like meta-apps). You’ll save your secret with a passkey and back it up with a 6-word poem. Your name is also a wallet, which holds its own token. (But you don’t need to know anything about crypto.)
Lodge is the first app on Urban Tiger’s new version of Urbit. Unlike the old Urbit experience (Tlon Messenger), urbit.house is both fully noncustodial, and fully general-purpose. Also, your guests don’t need their own servers. (But if they want to start their own lodges, it only takes a few clicks.)
The Lodge UX is “half forum, half chat.” Like a forum, it has a timeline tree. Like a chat, it flows through your unreads. The design was inspired by the original social network, Usenet. On a desktop you even “doomspace,” like it was 1986.
You’ll be billed for your server in crypto—by usage, not time (since it’s a functional server). It’s cheap. And you can charge dues.
Check it out: urbit.house
(*—the servers aren’t encrypted quite yet. Give us a couple more weeks to spin up the TEEs. Then we’ll destroy the old cleartext.)

New updates on my research on the Numogram.
We're doing an experiment on the musical property of the Numogram. The idea initially came from chords, which typically consist of three notes, such as 1–3–5, 2–4–6, or 5–7–2. Since a chord has three notes, and the Time Circuit contains three syzygies, we wondered whether there might be a correspondence between the two. Perhaps this suggests that we are living within the Time Circuit of human time, with its three syzygies representing the three notes of a chord. However, this turned out to be a dead end. I couldn't find any meaningful patterns or further connections.
So we shifted our focus to rituals.
In the Numogram, there are 89 rituals associated with demons. Some of them have visible routes, while others, such as [X] and [?], do not. As a first step, we divided the frequency spectrum from 33 Hz to 3,960 Hz into 15 equal intervals, mapping them onto a sequence of pitches ranging from Ana-7 down through Null to Cth-7.
For rituals with visible routes, such as Rt-2 of Ixidod, let's say its frequency range falls within Ana-5 [3,174.6 Hz–3,436.4 Hz]. We define the lower and upper boundaries of the interval as a and b, respectively, and let z represent the zone ID along the route. The frequency assigned to each zone is then calculated using:
f(z) = a + (b − a) × (z / 10)
For Rt-2, the route is 2 → 7 → 5 → 6 → 3. When the route reaches Zone 7, for example, its frequency is:
3,174.6 + (3,436.4 − 3,174.6) × (7 / 10) Hz.
We then calculate:
rem = (a × 10 + b) mod 9
Tempo = rem / 10
Each demon is assigned to a separate track of repetitive beeping sounds. The final composition is the mixture of all these tracks.
High-frequency music really affects people.
I was thinking that perhaps CCRU could have made more jungle music with this tool. 🤔
Let's hear what the demons have to say. 👇

From the (correctly constructed) Atlantean Cross it's relatively straightforward to excavate the Atlantean Calendar, with its five seasons.
[I, 55 days] March 1 to April 24
[II, 64 days] April 25 to June 27
[III, 91 days] June 28 to September 26
[IIII, 73 days] September 27 to December 8
[IIIII, 82 days] December 9 to February 28
Modernists can add intercalations in accordance with the Gregorian February.
Names to come.
