Can XR flip your hands left-to-right—and can you learn to use them anyway?
At NeuroXR @ ISMAR 2026, we’ll present EEG findings on adapting to sustained hand-switching in VR.

🕊️ Years before October 7th — when VR was the exciting new medium, and there was some optimism about peace in the Middle East — we set out to study whether VR could help with conflict resolution. A last paper of this series is (finally) out in Psychology of Violence (APA). 🧵
Findings: among majority-group viewers, visible activists increased willingness to compromise across the political spectrum — but the effect wasn't consistent across samples and didn't hold among minority participants. Group status & power asymmetry shape whether activism lands.

For years multi-agent RL has treated emergent behavior as something to observe: run the sim, watch the commons collapse, publish. We kept asking the inverted question — what if you could regulate it? 🧵

Kept honest: proof of concept, Harvest Game, 5 agents, IPPO. But the reframing holds — emergent multi-agent behavior can be a target of principled, data-driven regulation, not only an object of study.
