I learned that Mother 1 stores its world by 8x8 meta-tiles (that’s 64x64px) to compress level data. See how each house occupies a single meta-tile? Also see how 3 grass tiles on the second pic are reused. But if you remove the grid, you can’t really notice it. :o

Reverse engineering how Mother 1 scrolls in 4 directions on NES and going insane. I think I understand how it works and now I only need to implement it (~40% done). See you in a few weeks. 😭
