At the @dpropulse stall. Young startup. Good results in quick time. Impressive progress on what is probably India’s first indigenous air-breathing Rotating Detonation Engine. They hot-fired a 5 kN class RDE (with aerospike) at DRDL earlier this year, reaching TRL-5. IIT Madras-incubated, led by @SJha1618 & Dr Ramanujachari (CTO, former DRDO, scramjet expert).
Compact, higher-efficiency propulsion with real potential for high-speed munitions and UAVs. Huge potential for collaboration with other startups and even DPSUs.

Thought I'll give you guys a sneak peek. Here's a video of one of the short duration runs conducted by @dpropulse with its air-breathing rotating detonation prototype at a government facility during July 21-22, 2026. 5 kN burn with reduced air mass flow and reduced fuel flow as well. Aerospike nozzle integration proved. High-speed, High-definition content will also be released by and by.

Unveiling @dpropulse's latest 5 kilonewton (kN) plus rotating detonation engine (RDE) combustor integrated with an aerospike nozzle. The aerospike nozzle is of course a natural fit for the annular geometry of the RDE combustor, besides conferring significant benefits in terms of automatic altitude compensation, compactness & structural optimization. And yes, this combustor iteration is much lighter than earlier ones.
