After a quiet late November and first half of December in terms of precipitation (and too much Tule fog), the @CA_DWR 8-Station Index is back on track and now above normal with the latest rounds of heavy precipitation that are expected to stick around through Christmas. #CAwx

IMHO, the Nrn Sierra 8-Station Index is single most important Calif water metric. In the past six days, it has jumped 9+ inches, from 79% to 122% of normal to date, right on track with last year. Unfortunately, the Cntrl and Srn Sierra have been left out, being stuck at 94%.
