Fondly remembering my time with devs and builders in Buenos Aires just a few weeks ago. It was an honor to keynote at Nerdearla -- the largest free tech event in the Spanish-speaking world -- on building in the agentic AI era: and chatting about what part of what you're building today still matters in 90 days. Code's important, but evals and clear success criteria matter more. But what matters most is the community of people: the relationships you have with your fellow builders matter and are the strongest compounding asset over the long-term. Keep good people close, and keep building together! nerdearla.com/en/speakers/da…

Passkeys+email verification is the most common solution by far, but email verification with codes is prone to phishing attacks. With EVP, it can potentially become phishing resistant end-to-end. blog.agektmr.com/en/2026/10/…
the best login UX is by far the enter your email get emailed a code enter the code

“okay, so what? it’s just math.” no, you don't get it. here’s what OpenAI’s math breakthroughs could eventually help make possible in the real world: Vlasov–Maxwell → stronger foundations for fusion research, whose ultimate prize is virtually limitless clean energy to power civilization Calderón’s Problem → portable body scanners using electrical signals, making medical imaging cheaper and easier to access Maximum-Cardinality Matching → faster searches for compatible kidney swaps across large donor pools, helping hospitals coordinate lifesaving transplants Inverse Elasticity Problem → scans that map tissue stiffness, helping doctors locate suspicious growths inside the body Mumford–Shah Conjecture → better tools for spotting tissue changes in brain scans, helping doctors identify signs of disease Bose–Einstein Condensation → stronger foundations for quantum sensors that could help vehicles navigate without GPS Simple Stochastic Games → better safety checks for self-driving cars and robots before dangerous mistakes reach the real world Matrix Multiplication → cheaper AI and bigger scientific simulations using the same computers Edit Distance → faster DNA comparisons, helping researchers study genetic changes linked to disease The k-Server Problem → robots that waste less movement and energy, making warehouses more efficient and goods cheaper to move a reminder that math is the foundation of science. so accelerating mathematical discovery could compress centuries of scientific progress into years. insane timeline to be alive for!
We’re releasing a broad range of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model. We’ve been consulting with the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and we have drawn on their advice and public recommendations to inform how we release these results. github.com/openai/math

Simple primitive like the URL have enabled so much.
What you're seeing in gaming decompilation, stitching, reverse engineering and then ultimately web porting (via WASM and WebGPU) is a testament to 2 things. 1. Despite all of its limitations, the web is still the best memetic distribution system ever created 2. The Uniform Resource Locator (URL) is one of the greatest inventions of all time. Up there with the wheel, written language, agriculture, printing press, steam engines, transistor, etc.

"A framework is an intelligence cache." Lovely choice of words.
A framework is an intelligence cache. You could waste tokens reinventing the ORM, cache, queues, auth, routing, etc, or you could just pick a world-class framework.

Two standout episodes from our APAC GDE "Build the Next" series on shipping code fast: 1. Lovee Jain (Australia) builds an app with Google Antigravity: youtu.be/TVEJwkFW3VM 2. Lai Fong (Malaysia) builds an app straight from a prompt in Google AI Studio: youtu.be/WlLzSXjpsOw

I think this has been the big change for me. I'm now able to create things and experiment with ideas that I could even start due to the size, or the unknown nature of the outcome. It then leads you to think about how your environment is set up to help you keep expanding the ambition.
Biggest thing I’ve had to adapt to in the New World is constantly forcing myself to thing bigger, aim higher, be dramatically more ambitious. Years of having to constrain and cut down ideas to what is feasible for a solo dev takes work to unlearn.

The tweet below got enormous pushback at the time I posted it, more than 5 years ago. But this prediction is looking obvious by the day now.
Within 10-20 years, nearly every branch of science will be, for all intents and purposes, a branch of computer science. Computational physics, comp chemistry, comp biology, comp medicine... Even comp archeology. Realistic simulations, big data analysis, and ML everywhere

I quite like this framing, and my experience matches. A postmortem that explains why everyone's decisions were reasonable usually produces empathy, not change. The better question isn't "why did this happen," it's "what are we changing so this class of failure is less likely next time." I don't want the details indeed. michaelheap.com/i-dont-want-…
