On this day eight years ago, 11 Jews were murdered in a terrorist attack by a white supremacist during Shabbat services at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh.
It was the deadliest antisemitic attack in US history.
Today, we remember Joyce Feinberg, Richard Gottfried, Rose Mallinger, Jerry Rabinowitz, Cecil Rosenthal, David Rosenthal, Bernice Simon, Sylvan Simon, Daniel Stein, Melvin Wax, and Irving Younger.
May their memories be a blessing. 🕯️

Just think that just a year and-a-half ago I had to beg for water… Today I am free, and exercising my right to vote, which is also my duty. To vote and influence the future of our country. I used to fight for the right to live, today I’m voting for how we live. Nothing should be taken for granted 🇮🇱 “

The sky over Tel Aviv's coastline glows deep orange at sunset on the anniversary of the October 7 attack. The color evokes "Bibas orange," the shade Israelis adopted to remember Shiri Bibas and her sons Ariel and Kfir, who were abducted to Gaza and killed in captivity.

TWO YEARS AGO TODAY: NASRALLAH WAS ELIMINATED.
For decades, Hassan Nasrallah built Hezbollah into one of the most powerful terrorist armies in the world, threatening Israel from Lebanon and serving as Iran’s most important proxy.
Two years ago today, that chapter ended.
Nasrallah is gone. Israel is still standing.

Yom Kippur has an especially personal meaning for me.
My great-great-great-grandfather was the Baal Shem Tov, Rabbi Israel ben Eliezer, the 18th-century founder of the Hasidic movement.
One of the most beautiful Yom Kippur traditions associated with him tells of a simple shepherd boy who entered the synagogue but could not read the Machzor or properly recite the prayers.
As Ne’ilah approached and the congregation prayed with increasing intensity, the boy desperately wanted to speak to God.
In one version, he simply recited the Hebrew alphabet and pleaded:
“Master of the Universe, these are the only letters I know. You know how to put them together. Please make them into the right prayer.”
The worshippers around him were disturbed.
But the Baal Shem Tov understood something they did not.
According to the Hasidic tradition, he explained that the boy’s simple, completely sincere prayer had pierced the heavens and helped carry the prayers of the entire congregation with it.
Other versions tell of the boy blowing a shepherd’s flute or crying out like he did while tending his animals. The details changed as the story was passed through generations, but the message remained the same.
God does not measure prayer by eloquence.
The most sophisticated words can be empty, while the simplest cry from a sincere heart can reach the highest places.
More than 250 years after the Baal Shem Tov lived, I find that message as powerful as ever.
On Yom Kippur, we don’t need to arrive perfect.
We need to arrive sincere.

🇮🇱🇬🇷 WATCH: RAFAEL CELEBRATES HISTORIC $3.5 BILLION GREECE DEFENSE DEAL WITH CINEMATIC ANCIENT-GREECE VIDEO
Israeli defense giant Rafael released a slick 77-second cinematic video celebrating the expanding Israel-Greece defense partnership, using dramatic ancient Greek statues and mythological imagery to tease the “Achilles Shield” air-defense project.
The symbolism fits the scale of the deal: Rafael’s David’s Sling and SPYDER will form major layers of Greece’s new defenses, alongside additional Israeli systems and a national command network.
Ancient Greece imagery. Israeli missile defense. A very modern alliance.

The remains of IDF Sgt. First Class Yehuda Katz, missing since the 1982 Battle of Sultan Yacoub in Lebanon, have been returned to Israel.
Katz disappeared alongside Zachary Baumel and Zvi Feldman. All three are now accounted for.
The IDF says a Military Intelligence operation, coordinated with the Mossad, located and identified Katz’s remains.
