I thought I knew every horrible thing about this story, but it was not until I read @neerajadeshp's interview with Sabatini that I realized how total his unpersoning was
Former MIT scientist David Sabatini just won $6 million in a landmark case against false allegations of r*pe and sexual assault, which destroyed his career. Once on track to win the Nobel Prize, Sabatini’s ex-girlfriend accused him of r*pe in 2020 and began calling him the ‘Weinstein of science.’ He was later accused of perpetuating a “bro culture” in his lab. As a result, he was stripped of all his funding, lost his job, and went bankrupt. We interviewed Sabatini (@DMSabatini) about the verdict, which he says made him “proud to be an American.” @neerajadeshp reports 👇

In 2000, Israel offers a peace settlement, well within the world community's expected parameters, and the Palestinians responded with a violent Intifada. In 2005, Israel withdrew every soldier and civilian from Gaza, hoping that this would be the beginning of a peaceful relationship with Gaza that could develop into more general peace, formally or informally. The Palestinians responded by turning Gaza into an armed camp focused on destroying Israel, culminating in 10/7. Almost everyone I encounter on X: "Why won't Israel make peace with Palestinians?" And almost never, "Why won't the Palestinians make peace with Israel?"

What reasonable plan for a Palestinian state have the Palestinians put forward that Israel has rejected? It's a joke to pretend that Israel denied the Palestinians a state, when Israel offered several opportunities, the Palestinian side responded with rejections and violence, and the Palestinians have never, ever presented a plan that they would accept that doesn't involve destroying Israel. Yes, the Israeli public is in no mood to offer a state right now giving October 7th and the widespread approval the massacre received on the West Bank. But even if Israel re-offered Camp David or Taba right now, there is no way Abbas would accept it.
This is true. Except for the Arab parties, nearly all of Israel’s factions agree on one thing: opposing a Palestinian state. The problem isn’t just about Netanyahu. That’s always been a cop-out to distract from a much deeper problem at the core of the contemporary Israel state.

Bill Maher and Sam Harris Challenge Michael Steele’s Views on Criticism of Islam and Religious Extremism Bill Maher: People are afraid to criticize or satirize Islam because they could face violent retaliation. “It’s the only religion that acts like the mafia — that will fucking kill you if you say the wrong thing, draw the wrong picture, or write the wrong book.” Sam Harris: “We have to be able to criticize bad ideas.” Michael Steele: Muslim voices are speaking out against extremism, but their side of the story often gets overlooked. Sam Harris: The concern, he argues, is that extreme religious beliefs may be more widespread than people assume. Michael Steele: “You do have that element of fear as well, but you also have other braver souls out there who do speak out… publicly put their names on paper, declaring their opposition to what ISIS and others are doing. So there are those voices, but where was the coverage?” Bill Maher: “I can show you a poll of Egyptians. They are not outliers in the Muslim world. Let's say like 90% of them believe death is the appropriate response to leaving the religion. If 90% of Brazilians thought that death was the appropriate response to leaving Catholicism, you would think it was a bigger deal.” Michael Steele: “I would think it's a big deal”

The way anti-Israel folks on the left talk about things, you would think that the Palestinian side has been begging Israel for a peace deal that would include creation of a Palestinian state for decades, and Israel has consistently said no. In fact, the Palestinians have neither agreed to any of the several such deals proposed to them, nor presented one of their own. Abbas has neither the will nor the ability to agree to such a deal and not be murdered or deposed, so he prefers the status quo.

Comrade 5-star socialists sure living it up like capitalists with exorbitant campaign spending. OpenSecrets reports that the average U.S. lawmaker spends about $2.8M a year. Khanna spent nearly $100K on Hotels.com. Funny how capitalism is evil until someone else picks up the hotel tab. They hate capitalism almost as much as they love its perks. Some of these hotels cost more per night than what a blue-collar worker makes in a week. Marx in the streets, luxury in the sheets. And why did AOC's campaign also reported a series of payments totaling $18,725 to a psychiatrist in 2025?

Prominent accounts are already expressing outrage over RFK Jr.'s comments, but it's actually even broader than what he's saying: Muslims in general (and not just Arabs) have not distinguished themselves in science, at least in the modern age.
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Novel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

i am coming to the conclusion that the reason that so many of these college students so rabidly hated charlie is not because of what he said when he was holding the mic but rather what he asked them to say when he handed the mic to them. there's a stunning incoherence to their views. so angry, so confident, so entitled, and so completely, utterly unable to explain why or what they even believe. never have so many known so little and yet felt so certain about so much. there is no capacity for critical thinking or discourse, not even a basic semantic grasp of the concepts. it's just an entitlement-flavored word salad spewed forth as some talismanic claim to deference and respect. the greatest vulnerability of the marxist midwiped is being asked to explain what they are talking about. ask what their magic words mean, why they use them, what they signify, how the problems and processes they posit work. ask how they would do things. ask what they are asking for. the results are amazing.

Hello Alex Alex Alex, Let me summarize the book UNELECTED in a nutshell. The Industrial Revolution created a class of private citizens with unimaginable wealth. Many were reviled as robber barons (e.g., Rockefeller of Standard Oil). Others had a better image, like Andrew Carnegie. These new rich decided because they had money, they had a responsibility to do good by the world. So they started building global philanthropic networks that could go into every country. In order to do so, they hired Department of State and Department of War and other state officials. They quickly took over the country's education system starting in the 1920s to train them in the "international mind." When the intelligence community truly sprang up in World War II, the IC hired from ... these same shadowy philanthropic networks. And after WWII, they all coalesced on the same goal: the best chance at achieving a human utopia is to bring the entire world to "democracy." Except it turns out converting countries to democracy isn't so simple as just financing CIA coups. Did all those NGOs question their own assumption might be flawed - that not every peoples, not every culture and religion is compatible with "democracy"? No. Instead, the Trilateral Commission in the 1970s concluded that a more technocratic route was necessary. And over many iterations - the Balkans and African adventures of the 90s, the Iraq & Afghanistan ventures, Arab Spring and color revolutions ... every failed iteration of "democracy" always resulted in the same conclusion: the people are dumb, we have to try harder, put more pressure on them, tighten the screws. And now you have become fully self-referential. Anyone who disagrees with you is "authoritarian." Anyone who agrees with you is "our democracy." Voting methods doesn't matter. That the judiciary system blatantly stole the election doesn't matter. And nowhere this is more obvious in your 30th anniversary publication. In your 30th anniversary publication, you had an article from your longtime head of Open Society Fund-Serbia, Sonja Licht. She also happens to be one of the most decorated civilians in Europe and widely considered an expert in "democracy:" 🔹 Pro Merit Medal of the Council of Europe 🔹 Star of Italian Solidarity 🔹 French Legion of Honour Her solution: "I believe the time has come for a responsible, courageous elite, those who care far more about addressing the genuine social problems than about election results. Only a political elite with vision, prudence and a focus on the general good—to whom the electorate, with their active involvement in public life, can cede part of their sovereignty in the elections... spearhead... our struggle to survive." Read that again. The idea of democracy as pushed by the head of one of your foundations is to literally stop "election results" and to have the public cede their trust to a technocratic elite. End democracy to save democracy itself. This is the final form of a project that started a hundred years ago to spread free markets and create global peace and instill self-governance throughout the world. This is your legacy, Alex Soros. Your father spent his life fighting Communism. You, as his protege, will spend your life perfecting Communism. In the name of "democracy."

No, Congresswoman. You are not “facing 17 years in federal prison for doing your job and standing up to Trump.” That is not what the indictment says. You were conducting congressional oversight at Delaney Hall. That part WAS your job. But federal prosecutors allege that when officers attempted to arrest Newark Mayor Ras Baraka, you physically interfered with that arrest, struck one federal officer with your forearm, grabbed him, and used your forearms against another officer. THAT alleged conduct is what produced the three federal charges carrying a combined statutory maximum of 17 years. You have every right to contest those allegations. You are presumed innocent. You can argue the prosecution is politically motivated, challenge the evidence, challenge the officers’ account and make every constitutional defense available to you. But “I am facing 17 years for standing up to Trump” is political legerdemain. Opposition to Trump is not the charged offense. Congressional oversight is not the charged offense. The alleged physical interference with federal officers is. Those are materially different statements, and Americans deserve the whole story. #AStoneGroove #SilentMajoritySpeaks

If someone asks you how much a single family's life is worth to the United States Navy, tell them the exact price: ten million dollars of steel. On April 29, 1975, as Saigon fell, a tiny two-seat wooden-and-fabric Cessna plane with almost no fuel left circled desperately above the American aircraft carrier USS Midway. Inside that tiny cockpit, a father named Major Buang-Ly had crammed his wife and five small children, including a baby. He scribbled a note on a map, wrapped it around his pistol so it would not blow into the ocean, and dropped it onto the carrier deck. A young American sailor picked up the crumpled paper and ran it up to Captain Lawrence Chambers. The note read: "Can you move these helicopter to the other side, I can land on your runway, I can fly 1 hour more. Please rescue me. Major Buang, Wife and 5 child." The flight deck of the USS Midway was completely jammed from bow to stern with military helicopters. A Cessna has no tailhook to catch carrier wires, and its pilot had never landed on a ship in his life. By every military regulation, Captain Chambers had been in command for only five weeks. Throwing millions of dollars of U.S. government aircraft into the sea without permission from Washington could end his career in a court-martial. Chambers looked up at the tiny plane circling in the wind with five children inside. He did not call an accountant in Washington. "Clear the deck," the captain ordered. Hundreds of young American sailors in yellow and green jerseys ran to the edge of the ship, put their shoulders against massive Huey helicopters, and shoved ten million dollars worth of machinery straight off the cliff into the South China Sea. Captain Chambers turned the giant carrier into the wind at twenty-five knots. The tiny Cessna came down, bounced once on the steel runway, and rolled to a safe stop with feet to spare. When the cockpit door opened and five small children stepped out onto the deck, three thousand American sailors roared so loud it drowned out the engines, and immediately passed around a hat to collect cash for the family's new life in America. When the math says a child's life is too expensive, an American throws the math into the ocean.

I'm seeing quite a bit of comment about this, so I want to make a couple of points. I'm not owed eternal agreement from any actor who once played a character I created. The idea is as ludicrous as me checking with the boss I had when I was twenty-one for what opinions I should hold these days. Emma Watson and her co-stars have every right to embrace gender identity ideology. Such beliefs are legally protected, and I wouldn't want to see any of them threatened with loss of work, or violence, or death, because of them. However, Emma and Dan in particular have both made it clear over the last few years that they think our former professional association gives them a particular right - nay, obligation - to critique me and my views in public. Years after they finished acting in Potter, they continue to assume the role of de facto spokespeople for the world I created. When you've known people since they were ten years old it's hard to shake a certain protectiveness. Until quite recently, I hadn't managed to throw off the memory of children who needed to be gently coaxed through their dialogue in a big scary film studio. For the past few years, I've repeatedly declined invitations from journalists to comment on Emma specifically, most notably on the Witch Trials of JK Rowling. Ironically, I told the producers that I didn't want her to be hounded as the result of anything I said. The television presenter in the attached clip highlights Emma's 'all witches' speech, and in truth, that was a turning point for me, but it had a postscript that hurt far more than the speech itself. Emma asked someone to pass on a handwritten note from her to me, which contained the single sentence 'I'm so sorry for what you're going through' (she has my phone number). This was back when the death, rape and torture threats against me were at their peak, at a time when my personal security measures had had to be tightened considerably and I was constantly worried for my family's safety. Emma had just publicly poured more petrol on the flames, yet thought a one line expression of concern from her would reassure me of her fundamental sympathy and kindness. Like other people who've never experienced adult life uncushioned by wealth and fame, Emma has so little experience of real life she's ignorant of how ignorant she is. She'll never need a homeless shelter. She's never going to be placed on a mixed sex public hospital ward. I'd be astounded if she's been in a high street changing room since childhood. Her 'public bathroom' is single occupancy and comes with a security man standing guard outside the door. Has she had to strip off in a newly mixed-sex changing room at a council-run swimming pool? Is she ever likely to need a state-run rape crisis centre that refuses to guarantee an all-female service? To find herself sharing a prison cell with a male rapist who's identified into the women's prison? I wasn't a multimillionaire at fourteen. I lived in poverty while writing the book that made Emma famous. I therefore understand from my own life experience what the trashing of women's rights in which Emma has so enthusiastically participated means to women and girls without her privileges. The greatest irony here is that, had Emma not decided in her most recent interview to declare that she loves and treasures me - a change of tack I suspect she's adopted because she's noticed full-throated condemnation of me is no longer quite as fashionable as it was - I might never have been this honest. Adults can't expect to cosy up to an activist movement that regularly calls for a friend's assassination, then assert their right to the former friend's love, as though the friend was in fact their mother. Emma is rightly free to disagree with me and indeed to discuss her feelings about me in public - but I have the same right, and I've finally decided to exercise it.
“I think she’s going to find that you can’t sit on the fence... The real win is when ordinary people can say these things.” @DerryBanShee speaks to @joshxhowie about Emma Watson’s comments about JK Rowling. 📺 youtu.be/r2OGEITYe2Y
