Happy Birthday to America's Second National Park!
On September 25th, 1890, President Benjamin Harrison signed legislation establishing the second national park in America – Sequoia National Park. Created to protect giant sequoia trees from logging, this national park was the first formed specifically to protect a living organism.
Sequoia trees are an icon of resilience and community, bringing visitors together from across the world to marvel at their size, age, and beauty.

Apple has sold well over 100 million AirTags since launch.
Most owners use exactly one feature: tap "Find My" when they've lost their keys.
A security researcher who's spent years studying Apple's Find My network told me:
"An AirTag isn't really a tracker. It's a $29 device that borrows the location data of every iPhone that walks past it, silently and anonymously, and relays that back to you. That's a genuinely different piece of engineering than what most owners think they bought.
Because of that, almost every AirTag feature that actually matters is buried a few menus deep, opt-in, or something Apple built quietly to prevent the device from being misused to track a person without their knowledge not to help you find your backpack faster.
Most people set it up once, drop it in a bag, and never open the settings again. They're using maybe 20% of what a $29 tag is actually capable of."

NEW: A homeless dog that was found wandering the streets of Deming, NM, then rescued from a high-kill shelter after she was put on a euthanasia list has a new lease on life after she graduated from the U.S. Border Patrol's Canine Academy in El Paso, TX. "Chloe" is now serving as a Border Patrol K-9 based out of Louisiana and also works as a Critical Incident Response Canine for CBP after completing a five-week training course. She also provides emotional support at local hospitals.
CBP statement:
“Chloe’s journey is a powerful reminder that with patience, purpose and a second chance, extraordinary things are possible,” said Miguel Carrillo, U.S. Border Patrol agent, and Chloe’s handler. “She is serving those who serve our nation, and her work is already making a meaningful difference.”

We may not be known for our plentiful rock arches (shout out to our friends at @ArchesNPS 👋), but have you heard of our Natural Bridge Trail?
This 2.5-mile (4-kilometer) trail starts near the Bridge Bay Marina and meanders through the forest to the Natural Bridge—a 51-foot (18-meter) cliff of rhyolite rock cut through by Bridge Creek. To protect this fragile resource, the very top of the bridge is closed, but you can admire this rock arch from several close vantage points.
Before venturing out on your hike, remember that all of Yellowstone is bear country! So, hike in groups of 3 or more, be alert, and carry bear spray in an easily accessible location (and most importantly, know how to use it!).

Not your average RED fox.
This unusually pale red fox was spotted at Congaree National Park. Its unique coat is caused by leucism, a partial loss of pigmentation that, unlike albinism, doesn't typically affect eye color.
