Crazy—we took a quick look at our platform data to see if it supported how it "feels" out there. 2024 is on trend for the lowest programs against "new drug targets" in ~30 years. This kind of risk aversion very bad for future patients, especially with so much strong new omics-driven evidence and broadly rising drugability.

We made the cover @natBME with our recent work from my postdoc @RossWilsonLab @igisci @UCBerkeley Congrats to the whole team who contributed to this work!!!
The May cover illustrates that a peptide identified via screening aids the delivery of CRISPR ribonucleoprotein into cells, increasing the yield of edited primary human lymphocytes. go.nature.com/43bqgeH rdcu.be/dcxCM [Paper]

Excited to highlight @natBME cover story on PERC, peptide-based delivery of #CRISPR RNPs into T cells for ex vivo gene editing with reduced toxicity vs. electroporation. Great work from @dv_foss et al. @RossWilsonLab @j_eyquem @MarsonLab #CARTcell rdcu.be/dcw3w

Very excited to share our report out @natBME which is the result of my postdoc work @RossWilsonLab @igisci @UCBerkeley. Very grateful to co-first authors David Nguyen from @MarsonLab and @JoeJMuldoon from @j_eyquem lab @UCSF, as well as the *whole team* who made it all possible!!
I’m excited to share our report - out now in @natBME - of a new approach to CRISPR delivery that is poised to transform the way engineered T cell therapies are manufactured. Visit tinyurl.com/CRISPR-PERC for “how to” details. It’s threadin’ time! (1/11) nature.com/articles/s41551-0…

Update: The CDC still recommends not asking graduate students how long they have left until they graduate.

1. Major unlock of CRISPR potential empowered by metagenomics #NewMetaCRISPR. I’ve been hoping to see this happen for years: a way to edit the genomes of microorganisms within communities

Planning my new fall curriculum. I'm pleased to announce a new online course that will teach people when to use "reply all" to respond to an e-mail message, and when just respond to the sender. Registration is open soon, so please sure to share. I know many people will benefit.

Curious about therapeutic CRISPR delivery, and the potential of pre-formed RNP enzymes? Then I've got just the webinar for you! I review where we are and we're headed when it comes to non-viral delivery of editors like Cas9: youtu.be/_dOGxs2clJ0
