Hilarious text messages to receive this PM. Also, I will be in NYC week if anybody wants to hang out. Shoot me a text/DM.
Patriot. Good for this guy and for anybody standing up to the “prank” form of live-streaming/content where somebody bum rushes you with a camera, and in this case, said he was stealing money from him. Really some of the lowest of the low in society.

A good friend reminded me: when the Bishops or Cardinals say something ridiculous or absurdly political, remember to keep perspective. The Church has had to deal with the fallen state of clergy ever since the Apostles (Judas betrayed, Peter denied, Thomas doubted).
Remember too that each bishop has to work out his salvation with fear and trembling, and will be judged on whether he remained in relationship with God and fulfilled His will. A heavy task for sure. So keep your eyes fixed on Christ, and whenever the USCCB etc. is bothering you, maybe that’s God inviting you to pray for our current and future clergy, that they may get better. It’ll be alright, we know how this ends.

Peter Thiel might be onto something here…

FWIW I think he’s missing important dimensions like desire for human connection, empathy, shared understanding, which will be important for the future of jobs in healthcare, education, etc.
Walter Isaacson asks Peter Thiel what humans can uniquely do in the AI era.
Thiel: "We're very relational… these relational dimensions will become more important."
When knowledge is worth $0, the only career skills that matter:
- networking / social calibration
- persuasion (sales)
- curiosity (harnessing AI)
- taste (curation)
- storytelling
- grit
- golfing with clients (or equivalent)
We'll get so sick of a fake world that we'll go back to doing business like it's the 1800s. A handshake at the local saloon.

Pretty much.
As of the past few weeks, debt markets have almost entirely shut off access to money for any company that doesn’t have substantial revenue independent of AI data centers.
SpaceX closed $40B of debt for GPUs, but we’re investment grade and have Starlink & launch revenue.
That means the 200+ neoclouds are going to see guppy-level death and consolidation. Some will make it through, but not many.
all time VC fee story. An LP was telling me that a VC tried to charge him $120 to “prepare and send him” his K-1 😂 💀
Hear me out, but I think this is best set up for large orgs (say 1k+ employees) for the CEO where the other two offices are the CoS and assistant, where people have to physically walk through them to get to CEO. Cuts out noise and is also Lindy.

In my first company, we thought we needed “HR” when we got to a certain size. Hired someone experienced.
He played games like this. We learned about it when he blocked a candidate a key operator was recruiting.
Suspended him from role immediately. Fired within a month.

20 year HR professional here. Many times I’d make candidates wait a few extra minutes to see how they handled it when they got frustrated. Weeded out a lot of hot heads. Me, I’m looking for patience and understanding.
