Im sure it's been done, and I don't want to look it up because I want to try to figure it myself, and you should only reply with methods you come up with yourself, but: by what means could you represent smells or scents (for the human nose) in mathematical terms? For example,

Could you produce some quantitative model that mathematically represents the smell of, say, oranges, or even gasoline, like mathematical economics? I don't know much about the nose BUT here's my working half-thought theory:

IIRC there was a "vibration theory of olfaction" in the early 20th C. proposing that the molecules of a scent have vibrational frequencies sensed by one's nose in exactly the same way that pitch is sensed by one's ear, or colors sensed by one's eye. Could model that maybe

My first car. Got it when I was 16. 1976 BMW E21 320i, 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Hard to believe but I bought this thing for $4,000 off of Craigslist. You just don't see that anymore

Little pissed off at the Houthis right now because their use of Claude to build missiles to fire at Saudi Arabia has made it so that any time I try to add physics mechanics to my tomahawk missiles in Unreal Engine, safeguards get set off. It never used to do this

I've listened to so many Supreme Court oral arguments that I have fun factoids like there being one oral argument that took place on Halloween wherein a lighthulb explodes in the room but it sounds like a gunshot and everyone audibly freaks out until Scalia says "Happy Halloween"

Listening to Stephen Breyer in Supreme Court oral arguments always trips me up because at 83-years-old or whatever he has a verbal acuity and cognitive speed that surpasses most 20-somethings

One key indicator I like to use to determine the health of the economy is the average price of a used 1989 5-speed Saab 900 Turbo. We're looking at something like a $6,000 asking price for one with a blown head gasket. In other words, it's over

There was a Chicken Caesar wrap I had in London around 2007 that I think about a lot. It was so good. Wanted to start a career as a chicken caesar wrap taste tester. To this day I've never had a chicken caesar wrap that was as good as that one
