Thanks everyone, I often write in D♭, C, and C♭ and the lower the bass note, the harder it is to get loud. My kick was eating a lot of my mix. I used Newfangled Saturate on my kick group and +1.5 db at the end of my mastering chain & it’s sounding huge.

i frankly do not hype musical collabs all that much, i’m sorry. especially when both artists r excellent songwriters on their own. I rarely hear balanced creative cohesion in collabs unless they’ve developed it over a long time ei. having a real & meaningful personal relationship

for this reason, I really only collaborate on music with friends and musicians i’ve listened to for a long time; whose style, influences, and vision I feel like I understand. and vice versa. Anything else to me is more of a social exercise than a creative one.

Collaborating with a friend though, one you know is brilliant and a visionary artist who you’ve developed a strong creative relationship with, is fucking amazing. I do hype this very much. It’s apples and oranges. And the good collab projects are always this if u look carefully.
