Anyone will be rusty with no match minutes for 7 months.
Won’t be match fit either.
Do all the training in the world nothing will beat match minutes and match environments.

"The gaffer was angry at half time. He said we owe it to the fans to have a better second half. Us as players spoke amongst ourselves and were vocal. The gaffer said we need to perform how we did in the second half for the rest of the season."

Scott Parker confirmed after the Cardiff game he had little involvement in the setup of the team that started the game, due to only meeting the players in the morning.
He stepped in at HT with a change of tactics and players due to the team being "too passive".

We will kill team with just carnage and chaos

First half I'll put down to a Nuno hangover, Parkers first bit of real management came through and we came out second half with intent. Hopefully can start games playing the ball quicker and alot more intensive patterns of build up play.

Also think I saw more tactically from Parker in 45 minutes than I saw in 13 months under Nuno.

Absolutely clobbered by another slow start, Parker has his work cut out before Saturday.
Great to see Minutes for Magassa, need a lot more though but that's expected when you've not played competitive games.
Insane game but Well Done lads.

Still, Scott Parker when West Ham are 3-0 down at half-time… (from Mark Noble’s autobiography, still available in all good book shops)

Absolutely atrocious first half but hopefully a sign of Parker’s management that he got a response out of them second half. Giving Bowen a free role is exactly what he needed. Really was a captains performance second half took game by scruff of neck.
On to Blackburn.

Despite not being named in the matchday squad, Pablo and Maxwel Cornet have travelled with the team. Edson Alvarez has not travelled. #WHUFC

It’s pretty impressive that we’re as high as the 8th if all this is true
In pre-season, there was concern amongst the squad that training sessions still lacked intensity under Nuno.
Pre-match meetings would last 10 minutes and lacked detail. He mainly focused on showing clips of the oppositions kick offs and set pieces.

Nuno lost support of the dressing room in recent weeks, with a host of players falling out with him.
He faced internal criticism for exiling Alvarez & Magassa from his squad and it's also understood Nuno wasn't popular with the non-playing staff.
