Me: I have concepts of a plan

The @PittSleep retreat was full of science, fun, and relationship building! Lucky to be included and supported by the faculty, post docs, and students in the Center for Sleep and Circadian Science 💜💤📉☀️
Recording this with Dr. Kendall was a true treat!

SLPs in my life, see what @Brett_SLP just reported right at the end of pride month. Let’s be and do better as a field. Please consider signing!
I did some digging...
@ASHAWeb's Political Action Committee donated $126,500 to House of Reps' 2022 campaigns.
40% of this money was given to Reps w/ an @HRC score <50 😬
25% ($32,000) was given to Reps with an HRC score of ZERO 😱

Spotlight #7: @Brett_SLP (he/xe) is a queer PhD candidate interested in the psych of communication. His line of work seeks to understand how factors like personality and identity inform and shape communication behaviors and “disorders.” Brett is an amazing SLP & friend. @ASHAWeb
Excellent continuing education session led by Dr. Erin Meier this morning on Ecological Momentary Assessment in stroke survivors! @Northeastern
That moment when you realize you want to be @emorrowslp when you “group up” (except aphasia edition). Joking aside, Dr. Morrow’s ASHA 2022 talk was PHENOMENAL, and her work is so important. Excited to hear what comes next! #asha #sleepscience
Really interesting conversation about sleep differences in minoritized populations, which we know is an important consideration in aphasia rehabilitation too. Will be sure to examine racial, gender, and other differences in upcoming aphasia and sleep focused studies.
Dr. Sarah Pedersen serves as the discussant for the DEI-focused panel. What questions do YOU have, sleep community? @PittPsychiatry #pittsleep
Excited to hear from the @PittSleep community today!
Welcome to the 7th Annual Sleep & Circadian Science Research Day! The social media team (@DelaineyWescott, @Amy_SleepyOT, @ebgoldberg ) is excited to live tweet the event. If attending, tag @PittSleep in your posts. We will tag @PittTweet @UPMCnews @PittHealthSci @PittPsychiatry

Aphasia is loss of language, not intellect, and it's so heartbreaking to see that no one understands what this is. I do believe that a person with aphasia could serve as a US senator. And it's only been a few months, it will get better. Nobody understands.
Congratulations to the best mentor in the biz!
Thrilled to step into this new role, helping to support and train the next generations of clinicians and scientists in #PittSHRS. @LABlab_pitt @PittCSD
The work Kim and the VAPHS #SLP clinical team are doing is so important. Thank you for what you do! Helping transgender Veterans find their voice blogs.va.gov/VAntage/105195/…

And since the Republican Party “cares” so much about the well being of children, let’s pass legislation mandating child support until the age of 18 for unwanted pregnancies forced to term, using DNA testing to identify the man responsible.

Well that's gonna go down as one of the best sunsets I've ever shot, in #Pittsburgh or anywhere else. It's almost hard to believe what I was seeing, with mammatus clouds moving in after the storms this afternoon. Just some absolutely otherworldly, Stranger Things like views.

Congratulations @zink_maggie for receiving predoctoral funding through the T32 grant "Training in Auditory and Vestibular Neuroscience"! Maggie is working with @bchandra_pitt and @AravindHearing to investigate speech in noise deficits in major depressive disorder.
Learned so much from a group of amazing aphasiologists at @CAC2022, and had awesome conversations with everyone. Shout out to my mentor @michaelwdickey for serving as program chair like a champ!
