This is actually a lot more drastic than the age checks, as the banned categories are a criminal offence for you personally, rather than a regulation on websites. And if you get caught, the charge will just be “extreme pornography” so everyone will assume you’re a Proper Nonce.
Them banning different types of porn in the UK is so funny because to look at porn in the UK everyone is using a VPN nowerdays so it does nothing

A formal apology: “I had cynically assumed that while Ilhan Omar’s second marriage was probably some kind of immigration fraud, I believed that her marrying her brother was ‘too crazy ’. I now accept that I expected too much from reality, and failed to trust the plan.”(1/2)
“Federal agents in Minnesota
found evidence suggesting that Mr. Elmi and Ms. Omar were siblings (meaning Rep Omar married her brother), according to the six former and current officials familiar with the case. But, because prosecutors did not pursue the matter, the agents had limited investigative tools, the officials said. nytimes.com/2026/10/29/us/im

“I have registered myself on the Database of Known Liberals and will never doubt tiny right wing blogs and anonymous ethnic minority web forums again. I am profoundly sorry and hope to learn and grow from this unfortunate incident.” (2/2)

It’s horrifying to me that history’s most barbaric forms of cruelty against women (foot binding, FGM) were always inflicted by mothers on their daughters
(Smithsonian)

It’s happening again!
There will never, ever be an end to Bibi. Benjamin Netanyahu will outlast the state of Israel itself.

Not the weirdest thing about this photograph, but anyone who has watched the show knows that Columbo never carries a gun.

I am intrigued by African Buddhist temples. I would like to know more.

Uganda is the most interesting case... A Ugandan studying in India coverted to Buddhism, then independently brought it home in 2006. The first temple got blown down 3 years later. There's now three different facilities and it seems to be quite successful.

Incredible to think the confusion is over “lemonade” rather than whatever the fuck “tequila soda” is
At a bar ordering a drink from a British bartender Me: “Can i get a tequila soda, splash of lemonade?” Bartender: “uhh what do you mean, like sprite?” Me: “no tequila soda with lemonade” Bartender: “I’m confused what you want” Does lemonade not exist in England?
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The British brand R Whites is one of the oldest lemonade brands in the world having been founded in 1845 and first producing lemonade between 1845-1855 rwhites.co.uk

It's easier than ever to get off the beaten track. Hire a motorbike in Vietnam, Thailand or India and disappear into the countryside. Accommodation and navigation have never been easier. Most people don't do this because they don't actually want adventure. They want a holiday.

I decided to give it a sense of touch and movement by giving it control of an knock-off Roomba I had in a cupboard. Now I can watch Claude scurrying around my living room. Making weird noises. Bumping into things. Like my adopted disabled child.
I gave Claude control of my scanner. Hearing the scanner move on its own accord, and realising that Claude now had an eye to see, gave me a strange sense of having brought the AI further into the physical realm
