my friend works at a Spirit Halloween and he told me they are getting flooded with parents at their wits end with kids demanding Digger costumes. they are loaded up with untouched Spider-Man and K-Pop Demon Hunter costumes; every kid is screaming they want to be Digger Rockwell.

Big mistake to put on the sad sheep movie about death, regardless of Stewart's involvement.
Feeling bummed about Patrick Stewart so I started watching The Sheep Detectives figuring it would lift my spirits and he voices one of the sheep

SIR PATRICK STEWART (1940-2026) Before everything else, Patrick was defined by being born and bred in Yorkshire, the proud county in the north of England which he loved to the end. You could hear it in his accented voice and in the stern honesty with which he told you what he thought and felt. Yorkshiremen have no truck with half-truths or avoidance of big issues. He wore his heart on his sleeve, which made him a man to rely on, to admire and in my case, love. We first met as ambitious young actors with the Royal Shakespeare Company half a century ago but we weren’t in the same productions. My first strong memory was a few years later, meeting him in the street in central London when he told me about an offer to take over a leading part in 'Star Trek'. “But Patrick think of your stage career in the UK. Do you really want to risk—getting lost in Hollywood for years and years?”. Well, he took the risk and thank goodness for us all that he did for not just his devoted Trekkies but film and theatre audiences, who marvelled at his using international celebrity to star in a string of cinema successes ('X-Men' of course) and in great classical plays by Shakespeare, Ibsen, Arthur Miller, Peter Shaffer, Pinter and Beckett at Stratford-upon-Avon, in London’s West End and on Broadway. America was his adopted home, where he met his adored Sunny who has cared for him through sickness and health, through thick and thin. But he never forsook his origins: and the proudest achievement of the most respected and beloved actor of his generation on either side of the Atlantic, was his appointment as Chancellor of Huddersfield University in Yorkshire. His farewell performance in 'Avengers: Doomsday' is yet to be seen. Ian McKellen 29 October 2026 Photo: University of Huddersfield

Ghosts and Digger are the two best films of the year. #EdsFilmReview
Thanks to all who went to see the Ghosts movie this weekend and made it the UK’s number one film! We’re all so thrilled. Happy Halloween! X

Heard the new Steven Wilson album last night at one of those pitchblack playback events. Very chaotic album, will need a few listens before I make any sense of it. Very krautrocky with some great riffs though. The closest sounding album to Raven and Hand since they were released.

It's also his least accessible album, for those that like that kind of thing

My rankings after one listen of the new album: 1. Hand. Cannot. Erase. 2. The Raven that Refused to Sing 3. The Harmony Codex 4. Insurgentes 5. REQUIEM FOR A VILLAGE 6. Grace for Drowning 7. The Future Bites 8. The Overview 9. To the Bone

Who the fuck is young Bob?

The metric system is the tool of the devil! My car gets 40 rods to the hogshead, and that's the way I likes it!

Working my way through all the Steven Wilson albums in order of release (just solo and Porcupine Tree) before his gigs at the Albert Hall, and it's astounding how much better Raven and Hand were above everything else he's done. What was he on during that four year period?

He needs to get Guthrie and Marco back.

Don't know much about this Charlie Bigham, but he sounds like a condescending cunt

If you're a film lover who can't watch anything made before 1965, I have some bad news to tell you... This "older movies" issue is nonsense. It doesn't occur with most other art forms (e.g. literature and music). Go watch some Hitchcock and stop being insecure on the internet.
i hate when people act like watching older movies automatically makes their taste superior.
