This was posted by the Atlas Society, a reputable organization, and its information is consistent with other alternative sources. But not with PBS, or any mainstream news network. Not even close. Another example of a complete lack of balance in mainstream news in the U.S.
Here's a good explanation of the Gartner-Hype Cycle and how it relates to the AI boom/bubble. It points to a challenging medium-term outlook but nonetheless very optimistic in the long-term.

California’s climate agenda is an exercise in stunning hypocrisy, driven by special interests. It harms most Californians while failing to deliver climate resiliency, which is – climate crisis or not – a compelling and legitimate objective.

California's voters have been conditioned to reject any candidate that can be associated with "MAGA," but this conditioning does not extend as easily to ballot initiatives. Will this election bring with it another tax revolt? It's happened before.

The campaign to remove Snake River dams is funded by special interests, backed up by environmental extremists. These dams, which already have fish ladders, provide hydroelectricity, irrigation, and enable barge transportation. They shouldn't be a perennial target for destruction.

California’s Water Future: Where Should We Invest Next? A terrific panel at the 2026 Orange County Water Summit where I joined Charlie Wilson, Chandra Sekhar Chilmakuri, and Mark Gold to discuss water policies and projects.

Here is a terrific panel discussion on the State of California's scarcity oriented policies. I was privileged to participate in on October 6 at the Pepperdine School of Public Policy.

Capturing El Nino runoff in new and expanded percolation basins is the most immediate and feasible way to improve water storage and supply in California. We can turn these possible superstorms into an opportunity instead of a threat.

Republican in California are overwhelmingly outspent. They have no advantages of incumbency. Their supporters are so disillusioned that many will not vote. But it's not just about candidates. Important ballot initiatives are too close to call.

On January 1, 2027, having "nonfunctional" grass will be illegal. Expect massive tree death, hotter urban heat island effects, more gaseous, toxic "astroturf," negligible water savings, and a pack of preening eco-fanatics celebrating the destruction.

There is a great irony in the fact that the progressive left relies on the concept of "induced demand" to argue against things most people want - more lanes on the freeway, more water, more affordable energy.
According to this concept, by putting us on, for example, a "road diet," fewer people will drive, and that will help us save the earth.
But this is the same progressive coalition that is oblivious to the "induced demand" created when you give away free crack pipes and hot meals (in that order) to people whose homeless encampments have overtaken parks and sidewalks in our major cities. When you do this, you attract people from all over the U.S. who love the mild weather, the lack of drug enforcement, and the free food.
So the application of induced demand is inverted in progressive California. It is trotted out as a pseudo-scientific rationalization for scarcity policies that starve working people of the transportation, water, and energy assets they legitimately need, while it is ignored despite its value in explaining why we have an exploding population of homeless in our state.

Californians have been conditioned to have a Pavlovian aversion to GOP candidates. But here in California, GOP policies or proposals aren't the main problem. The GOP threatens powerful special interests that do NOT care about the average citizen.

This video underscores a sad political reality in California: Voters are conditioned to reject anything or anyone labeled "Republican" before considering and comparing their policies to the alternative.
