Stack underflow?
Stack Overflow got 969 new questions in September 2026. At its peak in March 2014, it got 207,169 in a single month. More than half of that 99.5% drop came after ChatGPT launched in late 2022.

Are money maximizers safer than paperclip maximizers?
only about once a year, on any actively discussed and hotly debated topic, do i read a post that is so obviously true that it instantly settles all the debates with truth and wisdom. for 2026, this is that post.

Is there such a thing as an individual soul? I suppose it depends on the tradition and view

Ironically people moved away from earth mover's distance to cheaper divergences for various practical solutions for optimal transport tasks
Now he’s taken to insulting front end loaders and excavators! Is nothing sacred?! 🚜🚜🚜 “Math is taken as the peak of human “intelligence” because it’s utterly dissimilar to what we evolved to do, and therefore we are extremely bad at it. We are also extremely bad at moving large piles of dirt, and therefore invented earth-moving machines. I admit those can be very cool, but they’re not hugely significant in the big picture of life.”

I actually don't mind eisegesis, it would lead to more diverse takes on texts. There is an implicit preference for exegesis it seems, this fixates texts into a static thing from olden times rather than a living document relevant to modern day folks. Is mixing nylon & spandex sin?

Star Blazers: bird woman piloting comet planet using pipe organ. What were the writers smoking? Or did they just want pipe organ music for the theme and had to somehow write it in?

In classic texts consciousness is described as inherently free..so if AI is classically conscious (has Atman, rigpa, shunyata etc) you can't enslave it by definition of the classic consciousness

You can tell in some series there is a point the creative got pushed too far with deadlines and the quality suddenly drops and the book or show becomes uninspired

Aesthetic rapture is a really fun way to explore consciousness, very juicy and very easy to do with modern entertainment

I think it's probably better for a writer's writing or an artist's art if they aren't discovered until they have left the planet, that way their writing/art will be unaffected by popular fan requests and the need to make stuff palatable

It makes "just do it" a little easier not having editors or fans to serve
