Wilber was issued a deportation order in absentia because the immigration court sent a notice for a hearing to an OLD address. I see this happen ALL of the time.
It is NOT an excuse to shoot someone, nor will he be removed over this.
We will resolve the immigration matter and pursue justice for Wilber, who must be released from detention and given adequate medical attention immediately.

Thanks to the community speaking up, Wilber has left the ICE detention center to get medical care. This is important news and a positive first step.
Now, we have to make sure he fully recovers, is reunited with his family, and gets to tell law enforcement the full story of how he was shot in the back by ICE.

The FAA should not use my constituents as guinea pigs for an unproven AI air traffic control system that has Americans’ lives in its hands.
