If you're doing #3, you need to apply to @joinef.
We're investing $250k in ai-native builders, no team required.
It's the main thing the Winter 2027 @jointhebridge squad is thinking about.
Drop a one-liner of what you're building. I'll pick my favorites and fast-track your application.
The MOST obvious (but REALLY good) STARTUP ideas right now:
1. Zestimate for company data (what your data is worth to an AI lab)
2. Google Analytics for agents (see which agents visit your site and what they want)
3. Y Combinator for 1 person companies (back solo founders running a team of agents)
4. Okta for agents (who each agent is and what it's allowed to touch)
5. Marie Kondo for your company's data (clean it up so agents can use it)
6. FICO for agents (a trust score before an agent can spend money)
7. Geico for agents (insurance for when an agent makes an expensive mistake)
8. Datadog for agents (see every step your agents took)
9. Twilio for agents (phone numbers and texting for agents)
10. Upwork for agents (hire an agent for a job instead of a freelancer)
11. ESPN for AI (every model launch covered like a big game).
12. Shutterstock for robot training videos (get paid to film yourself doing chores)
13. Credit Karma for what AI knows about you (see it, fix it, delete it)
14. Norton for AI scams (protect your parents from fake voices and emails)
15. PayPal Buyer Protection for agent purchases (fixes it when your agent buys the wrong thing)
16. Geek Squad for AI (set up personal agents for families and small businesses)
17. Dell for private AI (AI in a box for firms that won't use the cloud)
18. Carfax for used GPUs (a health report before you buy secondhand)
19. Airbnb for idle GPUs (rent out computing power you're not using)
20. Rotten Tomatoes for AI models (real reviews instead of benchmarks)
21. G2 for skills (find the best skills for your agent)
22. Dropbox for your AI memory (take what your agent knows about you to any agent)
23. Canva for physical products (design it with AI and get it made)
24. ADT for your personal agent (alerts when your agent does something it shouldn't)
25. Hertz for robots (rent one for a move, a deep clean or an event)
26. Harvard Business School for internet businesses (a real education in building online)
27. Workday for agents (onboard, manage and offboard your digital workers)
28. Getty Images for your face and voice (license your likeness to AI safely)
29. Meta Muse for older adults (and other high LTV niche)
30. Google Ads for agents (pay to be what the agent recommends)
31. Loom for agents (a walkthrough of everything your agent did)
32. Plaid for agents (approved access to banks, airlines and stores)
33. Jiffy Lube for vibe coded apps (quick fixes when your AI built app breaks)
34. Ancestry for datasets (where your training data came from)
35. The organic label for human-made content (proof a person made it)
36. Strava for builders (track what you ship every week)
37. Honey that haggles for you (your agent negotiates the price)
38. SEM Rush for personal agent platforms (like Muse etc)
39. Frequent flyer miles for agents (loyalty programs built for agents)

China’s operating on a whole other level. We just can’t compete with this kind of juice in the US.
Just came out of an LED panel factory in Guangzhou.
Most notable thing after having toured European manufacturers for over a month last year: Nobody minded us taking pictures. In western factories that's taboo, because nobody wants any information about how they produce circulating.
I asked the production manager why they don't care here. His answer: "You can see how we do it, but each of these machines costs ¥3m (~€400k) and we run dozens of them." The moat is capital. There's also a default assumption that everything gets copied anyway, so nobody builds their business on production secrets.
Another big reason is that showing the line is marketing. About 95% of companies selling LED panels here are trading companies. Middlemen = somebody's taking a cut = you're paying a bad price. Letting you see the factory proves they actually produce, shows the quality of the components, and signals you're getting a fair price.
Same with privacy. In Europe, filming workers beyond their hands is a no-go. Here people glanced up at three people filming them and continued working. Try that in a Bavarian SME.
Some numbers:
> 95% automated: that means machines assemble 95% of components, humans 5%
> Factory runs 24/7 on two 12-hour shifts. In Europe this would be 3x 8h
> 60h weeks, two days off, just not always the weekend
> Guangdong minimum wage is ¥2,680 (€360) per month, so ~€1.40/hour
> Employer cost is ¥4,100 though and employee pays ¥700 in taxes. Those are all pension and social contributions. There's no income tax on salaries below ¥5,000
The owner is called Cha-Ming, so he goes by Charming for foreigners. He definitely enjoys leaning into this name for branding.

This is like Drake vs. Kendrick for people who know what a post-money SAFE is
I slept I saw the future.
Beautiful, beautiful, unburdened from the mundane.
From the sink of the soul and the weight of the task.
Maps drawn across time.
The grey burnished to the glimmer of a jewellers shopfront window.
Thoughts the price of a times-table.
All questions answered, free, at last, to dare to ask the unassailable, the unbelievable.
Murder to the mundane.
Wealth of the old empires cast metals molten to the cavities of the many,
to the mouths of the hungry, the sick, solved, the old, enlivened.
The new world of cheap delights, the new dizzy world sick with distraction,
liftoff, lift up until your head until it knocks against the sky.
Burdened by the possible.
The things we made with humanity’s last invention.

It’s incredible how much wealth SF entrepreneurs have created and how little of it has gone toward building culture.
Where are the great museums, new architecture, music venues, public spaces?
Silicon Valley should aspire to leave behind more than ephemeral software.

Today we give Atlas dexterous hands, with the strength to take on real work, and the simplicity for mass manufacturing. Like the body, the hands are designed with high fidelity simulation in mind, to enable sim-to-real RL. If you give dexterous hands to a robot, make them do dexterous things.

why even the best investors can be utterly moronic.
did he forget his fund led @FactoryAI’s series C? lmao 🤣
You are a struggling second tier competitor that is more unethical and lying just because you have no decency or sense of proper behavior and shows your desperation. Straight out lying about if Chris being fired I thought would be below even you.

🤖 Made with AI
i'm looking for elite path defectors. are you one of them?
tell me what you've given up to build something crazy
the great institutions of the world ‘made the common tradesmen and farmers as intelligent as most gentlemen from other countries’ in the words of benjamin franklin
the @cosmos_inst and @Brendan_McCord were the first believers in me. i would not be where I am, and who I am today without them.
today, @cosmos_vc launches to help create the next generation of philosopher-builders.
the future belongs to those who believe
in book 4 of the republic. plato claimed that philosophers would make the very best rulers. they will be chosen by merit, by their unalienable love of wisdom, by their absolute conviction about what the future should look like.
cosmos ventures will create this generation of rulers. the institutions and companies of the future will be the creation of philosopher-builders.
I spent a weekend in Austin with @Brendan_McCord and @_mattmandel and several weeks being taught by Brendan and @PhilippKoralus as a grad student at Oxford.
there is no better team on planet earth to transform the human good into the important institutions and companies of the future than @cosmos_inst
condere aude
dare to found.
Introducing Cosmos Ventures.
@_MattMandel and I are launching Fund I with $77.6M to back philosopher-builders founding institutions for the AI age.
We’ve invested in AIUC (@aiunderwriting), @PrimeIntellect, Workshop Labs (acquired by @ThinkyMachines), and a stealth education company. Our LPs include @reidhoffman, @jliemandt, @StandTogether, @fredwilson, @mickymalka, and @AsteraInstitute.
AI is creating the biggest opening for institution-builders since the American founding. We are here to back the founders who take it.
Our thesis: Dare to Found.

truly insane
almost 2 orders of magnitude over the frontier
After co-inventing ChatGPT, I kept asking myself: why have superhuman chat models not led to AGI?
I’ve spent the last 2 years in stealth building a new way to train models (RLCD), and a new type of frontier AI model that we are releasing today: Jev
• 20-200x faster
• 40-400x cheaper (w/ output tokens free)
• Frontier composable intelligence optimized for decisions
AFAICT the shortest path to AI-based economic revolution
