Today is World Octopus Day, and it's also Halloween month, so I went digging and found some pretty interesting lore.
Meet $CASPER. The Ghost Octopus
Back in 2016, NOAA discovered this mysterious ghostly white octopus over 4,000 meters deep in the Pacific Ocean near Hawaii.
Popular media dubbed it "Casper" because of its ghostly appearance, resembling the famous friendly ghost.
What makes it even spookier is that scientists aren’t sure what Casper really is. It could be an entirely undiscovered species, possibly from a genus never seen before.
